Coronavirus Thread Political II

It won’t be over until one of two things happens. Immunization or herd immunity. They are saying Augest MAYBE for an imunization . . . might not happen. How long do we keep the economy closeed? How many 2 and 3 trillion spending plans do we do between now and then?

I’m not in my home studio – well today I am. But I’ve been going to work every day since this started.

He’s trying to belittle talk show hosts, like our gracious host. He fails to acknowledge that those leading the charge started in Michigan with ordinary citizens fed up with bs restrictions. That sentiment has matriculated throughout the masses.

Well said. Well said indeed.

Gotta stay down till election day right?

p.s. Nobody is forcing you outside. You can stay inside scared to death as long as you choose. You can’t choose for the rest of us though!

Nice to see that talking point got wide circulation. I’ve seen that exact response about the draft on various sites from libs.

Bravo.

Are they trying to say this is a draft in “The War on Virus”?

I believe they are trying to equate the draft as government ordered and you had to do it whether you liked it or not, to staying home because the government ordered it whether you like it or not. Just do it. So in a way you COULD say that’s what they are saying.

It’s stupid and a widely used talking point the last couple days when they realized people are tired of this ■■■■ and want to go back to work.

So if people are just tired of the draft, it should have just ended?

They did. It did.

Let’s make use of your flawed analogy.

Like the real war effort, this viral war effort will be won by drafting the young. They will be drafted to socialize and carry on freely in our society in order to attain herd immunity from this virus. They are the least susceptible and will come through for our fellow Americans in brilliant fashion, winning the war against the Coronavirus and thumbing their noses at our wannabe leftist captors.

The left’s ransom of socialism will not be met. They will continue to hurl insults and scare tactics from mommy’s basement, but most will wonder where they all went as they cower in hidey holes unable to confront their fears.

Nice.

Problem is they still get a check for staying home. They prefer to be dependent on goverment.

Years ago I said best way to promote conservatism is jobs jobs and more jobs. Libs see the best way to promote authoritarianism is getting people dependent on goverment as much as possible.

I notice you are not answering my question.

In the coming weeks/months there will be an outcry from the left and their media hags deriding the people’s decision to continue living a full life, unshackled by dependence upon those who would like to see freedom extinguished. They will pin their hopes on scare stories based on calculable deaths. The scientific community and those who’ve chosen to become informed will know that the coming measures are necessary for victory. The masses, unfortunately, have been told that staying home and not getting infected is the one true path! They haven’t been told who’s most at risk and what the estimates are for those who are at little risk. So the garbage fed to them with the coming spikes of infection here and there will not be in effort to inform but to intimidate.

I did. Your question is flawed. An ill comparison. Try harder.

Precisely…only way for things to return back to normal is to elect democrats in the fall. They will make it “safe” for em.

Sad…the left has politicized science.

Meanwhile they destroyed our economy. The very thing they couldn’t beat Trump on. Libs need dependency for power.

I only speak for myself, not the ‘left’.

But I will be very happy if, in the next two weeks the states that are more open than mine, or my neighboring state, don’t show a spike in cases, and can proceed with a phased in opening.

That would mean we could follow their lead when our numbers come down a little further, and it would mean there is hope for a semi-normal summer, and most importantly, a good chance the kids can go back to school next fall.

But I live in a state where COVID is running through the ■■■■■■■ water pipes. In my small town alone, I think our death count is 14.

My concern is, without proper testing and tracing plans in place, the states opening now are just going to have to close down again in a month when things trend up again. We are already seeing the middle states showing big gains in areas previously thought to be not terribly effected.

I honestly see this position of mine as completely measured and politically neutral. It is strongly in my financial interest to have everyone around me back to work. But a measured, slow approach seems to me to be the right balance or risk and reward. And for much of the country, it’s just way to early to say ‘go!’ on that right now.

I know many posters here refuse to see any post other than through the prism of the perceived political affiliations defined here, and therefore, if tnt is saying it, it must be crazy liberal talk, and it must be scorned and disparaged.

I thought this issue, which has claimed 80,000 lives and claims a 9/11 worth of americans every…where are we? every two days? maybe three?..would be one of those issues where we really just discuss the situation and respect each other’s views because we are all americans, and all in this together, but here, it really hasn’t been that way.

But so be it.

I’m going to bite on this. How did Corona virus get into your water supply?

No matter who we elect, things will not be normal for quite some time.

But I would like t elect someone who is working hard and effectively on solutions for america on the COVID situation instead of tweeting 100 times in one 16 hour period. Or bungling the PPE procurement situation. Or contradicting the experts he appointed every day. Or telling one state to be ‘liberated!’ despite similar conditions to another state he tells to stay closed…

But I know you will disagree because you made it very well known that you supported trump, not because he aligned with your proudly held conservative values, but rather because you wanted someone who would, in your words ‘burn it all down.’

This is what ‘burning it all down’ looks like. A confused, ineffective chaotic response. So I would imagine you are pleased.
