Coronavirus Thread Political II

Seriously, of all the things to bitch about.

Just what is it you think the pandemic response team needs from him that he isn’t giving them?

Schools are a local and state issue and that’s where the responsibility lies.

The last thing we need are DC bureaucrat dictating local school policy.

Why do you think we even have state and local gov’ts?

Nobody is forcing you out into the world. If you’re that scared just stay home for the duration.

And appropriately so. UE isn’t a paid vacation, it’s for those who have lost a job and can’t find a new one.

I think that reads, “The Gov’t big enough to do everything for you is powerful enough to do anything to you”.

Oh boo hoo.

So the “non essential” people are going to have to start going to work like Doctors, Nurses, Grocery store workers, Gas station employee’s, Truck drivers, fire fighters, police officers, janitors that take care of those places, the support people who keep the places for them running, food processing plants . . . .

UI is for those who don’t work through no fault of their own. If they decide not to go to work, then it IS their fault they are not working. Just like if someone at a grocery store had decided they didn’t want to work in the conditions the last two months, they wouldn’t have been eligible for unemployment payments.

Yeah, I was paraphrasing.

Yawn.

Still pretending it’s all over huh? That’s adorable.

Failed strawman argument, nobody is pretending it is over and waiting till it’s completely over was never a consideration from the beginning.

The objective was to flatten the curve and prevent hospitals from being overwhelmed.

Mission accomplished, time to start resuming a normal life.

Still trying to scare everyone back into their hidey holes, huh? That’s adorable.

So then when people here say ‘protect the vulnerable’ while we re-open the economy…how do we do that if UI won’t be an option for the elderly and those with conditions that make them vulnerable?

So if you are a 64yo waiter with a heart condition…get back to work?

People are not happy.

Liberty isn’t a political toy as it now appears to be.

What if you need the money?

You don’t want them to collect UI, so…
So if you are a 64yo waiter with a heart condition…get back to work?

It was over 3 weeks ago.

Liberty is getting abused now.

It’s fascinating to watch how the RW media’s decade’s long campaign to delegitimize science leads to attitudes like this.

Yesterday, the Republican appointed leaders of the CV response team explained for 3 hours why this isn’t close to over, and the science demands caution, and yet…here we are…clamoring to rush right out there and ignore everything they said.

Were people ‘happy’ when they got drafted?

Did they do it anyway because it was the right thing to do for our country?

Claim disability and stay isolated.

Living is for the able. Liberty must be fought for.

We will fight.

They fought for liberty.

They would fight for unessentials.

You are missing the obvious.

You are advocating for the opposite of ‘fighting’.

Isn’t it ironic that the people who are leading the charge to ‘get back to normal’ are doing it from their isolated home studios?
