Save the hospital system. Flatten the curve. Protect the vulnerable.

STODR:
Yes one has a vaccine and one does not. See the difference.
ExactlyâŚDo you? One is preventable, one is not. So you canât say this is no worse than the seasonal flu, which many the Right and the person I was responding to, was trying to do.
Preventable?

You are going to be exposed.
Then there is no point in any of this.

You canât protect the vulnerable if everyone gets exposed.

Obviously you do not. When one is preventable as you say and you still have almost as many deaths because of it. Which one is worse?

Yes, we can.

Yes, we can.
You said previously that âyou are going to be exposedâ. Did you not mean everyone is going to be exposed? Cause if not, that means social distancing and quarantines work. And if they work, then they can work for anyone, and not just the vulnerable.

Yes. And that happened in a month and a half
No no no.
Literally the single week of April 12 (4/12 - 4/19), we had about the same number of confirmed covid deaths as we did confirmed flu deaths in all of 2017-2018. Remember, when people usually talk about flu deaths, they are talking about the extrapolated estimate. Right now with COVID deaths, we are basically dealing with lab confirmed positives.
The entire 2017-2018 flu season had about 15,600 confirmed flu deaths (later estimates extrapolated it to ~61,000).
The single 7-day period of 4/12-4/19 had about 15,200 confirmed covid deaths.
Crazy.

Operator dependant mitigations. You are going to be exposed. Just like you are exposed to the flu viruses.
When you are, your outcomes are limited to 6.
- You donât get the disease.
- You get it but you are asymptomatic
- You get it and are symptomatic
- Symptomatic - Recover
- Symptomatic - Recover with medical intervention
- Symptomatic - Die

My bad.
I understand what you are saying now.
Fired up! Ready to go!
Not %100 preventable obviouslyâŚ
Math.
60% to reach herd immunity (itâs what Iâve heard anyway)
Virus kills .1% (looking like this more each day)
320,000,000 Americans.
Less than 200,000 dead.

Not %100 preventable obviouslyâŚ
What percentage?

I dunno what Taberâs would say but Iâll check.

What percentage of NYC do you think has been infected?

You are going to be exposed.
Not if you lived in Taiwan.

My best read (Merriam Webster) is that recovery is an active state. So I presume itâs possible to be recovering but be totally messed up. Some of my 12 Stepper friends are walking (?) testimony to this.
