Yes we should have a hard response.

I think we can recognize manipulation in place of discussion.

Something we have to deal with like petulant children.

I’m not calling you out for a lack of compassion.

I’m calling you out for a lack of consistency.

If this was “just the flu” and “we overreacted” then there is nothing to get on China for. They may have lied but they didn’t cause the West to “massively overreact to the flu”, as is the argument you keep putting forward.

But if China is to be called out…that means this is just a tad more serious that “just the flu” that is only “killing people who would be killed by the next flu or virus”, now isn’t it?

You can’t have both at once.

American consumers, like to be told to stay at home? Like TP, meat, cleaning supplies shortages and having to wear a mask and gloves everywhere when you venture out? How about losing your job and waiting for hours perhaps days to get an unemployment insurance claim processed?
Next time you do purchase a product if it says “made in China”, pass. Remember if AMERICAN consumers do not purchase ChiCom made goods, they have no economy.

You are saying the Chinese economy now depends entirely on the American consumer. Are you saying China haw not other markets around the globe?

If you are concerned about rebuilding the American economy, have you considered the impact on the US of suddenly stopping trade with China. How much farm revenue are you prepared to forego?

Taiwan stopped it.

We can’t because…nature.

What a strange argument.

Why do we spend so much energy on cancer and heart disease? Why do we care if diabetes kills us?

Culling of the sick.

Just keep telling yourself that. Maybe you will convince yourself that abortion isn’t the taking of an innocent unborn baby.

No one is truly pro-life…they’re only pro-life if the cost to them being pro-life is acceptable.

It’s why caring about the unborn but not caring about what happens to people fleeing poverty and war (or caring about it as long as those people “don’t come here”) are attitudes that can reside in the same person.

How long do you think the government can continue to send out 2400.00 dollar checks? It’s even more for couples with kids. Do you not get that the money the government is sending to people isn’t sustainable? Do you understand that landlords and lending institutions can’t go for months without collecting rent or mortgage payments? Do you understand that businesses, especially smaller ones can’t go for months without making money?

What the hell is wrong with you Libs thinking process? This demand to get out isn’t simply about being able to get ribs at Chili’s. Most people haven’t felt the full economic pain yet. Business owners are hurting, the employees they had to lay off are hurting. People are going to start losing their ability to get to work when their cars get repossessed, they won’t have jobs to go back to if their employer had to close, and they won’t even have places to live with their families if they can’t catch up on their rent or mortgage. It’s been near two months since many have worked. If you don’t understand millions of people are getting to the point of desperation because of these things and are willing now to risk getting this virus, that just shows YOUR level of concern for people’s lives. And if you believe people like Chucky and Nancy or the mayor of Chicago or Michigan governor give a rats ass about life over power, you are deluded.

Libs have been voicing concern for wage slaves for ages now so you’re a little late to the party. Everything we see now is representative of the failed capitalist experiment cons have supported to their own detriment save for the rich ■■■■■■■ ultra wealthy who are bailed out everytime the economy gets rough.

That’s just dumb. Are you saying socialist countries are faring better than us? Which ones would that be and what is your metric for making that determination?

At what point should everyone in the world have known that this was a possible pandemic. When was the evidence publicly available?

I think the announcement that they were building a hospital in just 10 days to care for the sick might have been a good indication.

Wasn’t there a viral video of residents of Wuhan singing on their balconies before that?

Wasn’t there a travel ban for residents of Wuhan?

These things should have told the world to prepare for a virus. What did the US do in February to prepare? The hospital construction started Feb 1. What did the US do after the announcement that China was building this hospital?

Produce thew quotes Jay, the posts in full context, stop weaseling.

You intentionally misrepresented what I said and we both know it.

You aren’t going to weasel out of this.

No I didn’t.

The quotes are in full context.

You believe we overreacted.

You believe this is no worse than the flu.

You believe this only kills those who were going to die soon anyway.

It’s right there in your quotes.

I agree, first though we must decouple, pull our manufacturing out to the greatest extent possible and find alternative sources for things we cannot produce here.

I still think we need to pull everything possible home and the rest to the greatest extent possible to our own hemisphere through some sort of “Compaq of The Americas” raising the standard of living from the Arctic to the Antarctic in this hemisphere.

With a work force of 700,000,000 or more and most of the world’s remaining natural resources no country or group of countries could begin to challenge us economically for centuries.

We are the number one importer of Chinese goods on the planet by far, they cannot replace us period.

They also starve without US ag imports. We’ve always and the leverage and the advantage and we need to use it to our advantage instead of continue to aid China in their quest to become the most dominant country on earth economically and from the aspect of industrial production.

We can’t stop it for numerous reasons starting with our own constitution, culture, size and population.

Taiwan is smaller than more than 40 of our states, no constitutional rights, and a culture of subjects who have been bowing to royalty for more than a thousand years, as well a being a very small Island nation.
