Well, the point isn’t honesty or intellectual consistency, the point is always attack, and never give an inch. Calumny over country, and if you can actively work to damage the country, so much the better.

and a lot of it is based in irrational and selfish misdirected fear.

Trump Doctrine. He actually helped Ukraine instead of grifting its energy businesses with relatives on the take.

Sometimes images add to a narrative.

As well as extorting them for dirt on a political opponent.

Taiwan is the size of Maryland.

Take whatever is of value and whoever wants to come and drop it in west Utah/New Taiwan.

Truth and facts are obstinate that way.

Where are they going to get the stuff that is required to build the lithium extraction plants?

There is a saying … if it cannot be grown, it has to be mined. Nobody has found that to be untrue yet.

It was a perfect phone call and the players that testified are also in the Durham net.

The semiconductor industry is a major piece of infrastructure. Both physical and human. It will take years and billions. probably trillions. And no guarantee the human capital is available.

The ugly answer is for Taiwan to arm itself with powerful enough weapons to make an attempted invasion by the CCP a mutually assured loss event. A sovereign nation defends itself.

Same goes for them. Outlaw the use of child labor abroad, no product using it should be allowed into our market.

Except I just showed you it can be extracted from seawater at five bucks a pound.

Unfortunately Taiwan would be slammed, and I don’t see anyone coming to their aid at best a bunch of sanctions even though they would probably largely be symbolic sanctions. I mean the world already knows China is committing genocide, hell Disney just filmed a movie ‘Mulan’ in proximity to the concentration camps.

No ones going to lift a finger over Taiwan.

Do you think that’s even possible, given the disparity in wealth and population?

There’s a few things Taiwan could do to create the conditions for MAD.

  1. Most difficult. Nuclear deterrence. Build a small arsenal, some intermediate range nuclear missiles, and threaten to use them on Beijing and Shanghai if attacked. There’s a few issues with this one. Namely how would the US respond. And also, would Taiwan have the human capital with the expertise to introduce nuclear weapons? Lastly, getting the fissile material.

  2. Much easier plan. Chemical weapons. Nerve agents specifically. Threaten to use them on invading Chinese troops.

  3. Wild card plan. Biological weapons. Weaponized small pox has a 90% mortality rate. Threaten mainland China with it. This is an extremely dangerous plan since it cannot be controlled once released.
