Honestly, my circle of friends, my family, and I managed to go our whole lives without darkening our faces for a party. I don’t understand how this could be a thing, in the latter part of last century or this century.
Maybe it comes from a position of privelege? I don’t know.

I used to darken my face all the time. Light green and loam. Sometimes several times a day for day after day.
