Buzzfeed: Secret Files Show How Trump Moscow Talks Unfolded While Trump Heaped Praise On Putin

Buzzfeed story today reveals how while Trump was saying he had no business with Russia that the opposite was true.

As a candidate, Donald Trump had a lot of praise for Vladimir Putin — and no business, he kept insisting, in Russia. These documents tell a different story.

BuzzFeed News is today publishing a cache of internal Trump Organization documents that lay bare the secret negotiations that continued long after Cohen claimed the deal had been abandoned. The documents, many of which have been exclusively obtained by BuzzFeed News, reveal that — despite Trump’s claim that the development was never more than a passing notion — the effort to get the tower built was long-running, detail-oriented and directly entwined with the ups and downs of his campaign.

As Trump went from rally to rally, vociferously denying any dealings in Russia, his representatives, Michael Cohen and his associate Felix Sater, worked with Trump Organization lawyers and even Ivanka Trump to push forward negotiations to build a 100-story edifice just miles from the Kremlin. The fixers believed they needed Putin’s support to pull off the lucrative deal, and they planned to use Trump’s public praise for him to help secure it. At the same time, they plotted to persuade Putin to openly declare his support for Trump’s candidacy. “If he says it we own this election,” Sater wrote to Cohen.

This basically relates to Trump Tower Moscow. The dates are just a year before the election. Why the hell didn’t we hear about this at the election?

From Oct. 13, 2015 from Felix Sater to Michael Cohen:

Dear Michael,

Attached is the signed LOI, by Andrey Rozov. Please have Mr Trump counter-sign, signed and sent back. Lets make happen and build a Trump Moscow. And possibly fix relations between the countries by showing everyone that commerce & business are much better and more practical than politics. That should be Putins message as well, and we will help him agree on that message.

Help world peace and make a lot of money, I would say thats a great lifetime goal for us to go after.

The corruption in this administration is unprecedented and this stuff only adds more fuel to that fire.

Thanks. I added it in.

Before there is the response that this is no big deal… if it isn’t a big deal then why did they lie about this so much for so long?

Because they could?

I also wonder where they got this leak from.

Sater?

You cannot get more clearer that this, fat donald’s Presidential campaign was first and foremost about buttering up Putin to make his Moscow development deal.
I don’t have any idea how in the hell anyone can defend this, but we’re about to find out.

They will find a way to defend it.

The rhetoric of the entire thing was all for Trump to make money by making himself a national political figure.

Crazy how the plot of the Producers came true on this one.

The thing includes NAZIs.

How could it not be used?

Fat donald was far more worried about losing this trump tower deal than losing the election.

And now he might lose it ALL!

I don’t think that he wanted to win.

There was a time when he was saying more and more insane things and I think that it was to rile up the base, but not to win.

Winning wasn’t the desired outcome.

Losing, being able to grift and getting away with it was.

I think that they were counting on the norms of this country that if they lost they wouldn’t reply be investigated too thoroughly by a Clinton administration because the optics of it would be terrible… and they knew that.

Agreed. Donald would have gone on his merry way but the Presidency intervened.

All a nothing berder.

Yes, wasn’t he making noises about the election being “rigged” long before it actually took place?

Yep

My opinion is that winning the election wasn’t the goal.

The goal was to sell a brand to a certain segment of the market.

No collusion delusion except for Hillary and Fusion!

Everyone should be angry about this. Everyone.
