Indeed. He knew he had a chance to withstand the scrutiny of a high finisher in the primaries. He probably didn’t even expect to get the nomination.

The scrutiny on a President, that’s a whole different world. His entire circle knew he was screwed, absolutely screwed, election night.

Yep. But his ego led him to believe he could pull it off.

I have an answer but im not posting ot here just to help them

Because they knew dirty anti-American liberals would make a big deal out of it and try to smear, slander, and besmirch a Great Leader, Amazing Patriot, and all around Alpha Male with it.

And that’s the ONLY reason God-fearing Trump apologists have gone from “Fake news!” to “Okay it happened but it’s totally legal!”

I believe the line they will use is that it is “not technically illegal” because we all know this guys stinks like that wagon they used to cart off the dead in Monty Python’s Holy Grail.

“Not technically illegal” will be uttered with a faint rising inflection at the end because they’re not even sure of that.

Yes, this is an apparent campaign lie…which brings this investigation to the level of opposition research. Campaign lies are not illegal.
But collusion? Was the Trump organization not going to offer some bit of foreign policy trade off in exchange for a deal on the tower?
HOw?
Russia could only get something if Trump became President, and if Trump became President the deal was obviously off the table.
If Trump did not become President then he could go ahead with the deal but he had nothing special to offer Russia, policy wise.
Russians in the government knew that.

Heh. The tower was not the Russian end game. That was the carrot and they already had a massive stick with the other stuff they have on Trump, including what they have done to keep him afloat.

Viewing this thing through a simple lens of tower or no tower, tit for tat on the tower, does and tremendous disservice to an understanding of the entire dynamic, but it certainly does put Trump in the best possible light given these revelations.

How many Russian grandmasters are there? They’re up against checkers players.

Hey, literally one post after you said it.

Yeah, geez, he was just brokering the deal using a Russian mobster who was trying to get Putin to endorse him, nothing to see here. Liberals, amirite?

Don’t forget the brief time they were talking to a Russian bank that was under US sanctions for a loan.

Did the sanction preclude their being talked to.

Time to remember…there never was a Trump Tower Moscow.

We are talking about talk.
No sanctions were broken, or if they were this certainly hasn’t been shown here.

BTW, other than the pretty pictures, there is nothing new here.

Yes. The President’s company talking to a bank under sanctions under the premise of maybe getting financing is totally normal.

Encouraged even.

"@realdonaldtrump

For the record, I have ZERO investments in Russia."

Not really a lie, is it?

Where did the Buzzfeed article go???
