Are we endanger of this happening here?

Nothing wrong with blue areas.

Dover for instance. Low crime. Public transportation available. What more can anyone ask?

Why would they. These people were heard, the issue was not that they went to the capitol…the issue was that they went inside forcefully, the broke down doors, they busted out windows. That has nothing to do with the first amendment. Stop trying to scare monger everyone with liberals are going to take away your rights. This had nothing to do with the first amendment and had everything to do with a mob of people pissed that their guy didn’t win re-election. Which if they wanted to go to the capitol and rally and protest…it would be fine.

They vandalized, trespassed, damaged property, disrupted congress, made congressmen and women and their staff seek shelter. This was not the first amendment. This was violence…Violence is not a right under the first amendment.

You guys (Collective) have spent since May complaining how the BLM riots are not protests…now you want to claim that yesterday was a protest and now the first amendment is under attack. BS.

As a conservative in California, I can understand your frustration with local politics. But there’s a big difference between political cronyism and one-party dominance of a state and what Trump is alleging happened in this election without evidence.

Nice rant but you didn’t answer the question.

So what do you think their response will be? And should we support anymore restrictions?

Not examining the evidence does not meant there was none. They just ignored it.

I have no idea what the response would be…I would hope it would be to leave things alone. Yesterday was not an attack on the first amendment and had nothing to do with the right to protest. That all went out the window when they entered the capitol…It no longer was protest. It was the citizens attacking and stopping the business of the people. I as you know am not a liberal…so no, I would not support any restrictions on the first or second amendment because of yesterday.

The OP is really just more of your posts attempting portray democrats, liberals and anyone with any like mindedness as socialists. Honestly, it’s growing quite tiresome.

That’s not true. Trump’s legal team had their day in court–in fact, dozens of days in court. They couldn’t produce the evidence. Here’s hardcore Trump supporter Lou Dobbs complaining about that very thing.

ā€œEight weeks from the election and we still don’t have verifiable, tangible support for the crimes that everyone knows were committed,ā€ Dobbs said.

They have been asked to produce the evidence in over 60 court cases…AND THERE HAS BEEN NO EVIDENCE TO PRODUCE. Why do you guys continue to insist that there is some stash of smoking gun evidence that exists out there, that has not been able to be presented when if they had it they would have presented it.

Then honestly, you are free to take a hike. Don’t let the door hit you in the arse on the way out. Sorry bout chur luck.

No. Probably not.

And there you have it. A real, actual response to a question. :+1:

Apparently the response of some, like Schumer, is to use the 25th amendment or impeachment to remove Trump. Obviously with the speed of things at the capitol, you could never have a trial in 17 days, so the sole purpose of this is political.
What we can tell, the Democrats response will be to ratchet up the conflicts between left and right even further, rather than being the ā€œunifiersā€ Biden pretended to be.

It doesn’t seem to be a problem, but what would you propose?

Not all people feel the need to watch the campaign or debates. Plus, if we allowed mail in votes to arrive and be counted a week after the election, that would allow people overseas to watch the debates/campaigns all the way to the end. You fine with that?

Yes, I’ve heard that one too. And partly agree. It disrupted the work of the people…for several hours. Lets keep this in perspective. The media wants to see this as sedition and an attempted overthrow of the government, and the burning of businesses last summer as protests.
No, they need to get their priorities in order.

Good Lord. They want to boot him out three days before he leaves anyway? Seriously, are revenge tactics the best thing for America right now? Schumer is a clown.

It is not as local as you may hope. My perspective was not from politics and then outward; it was made from who was buying up the news media, and from there outward. It just happened to collide with politics.

Anyway, I enjoyed our discussion this morning. I am actually wishing the politics comes out as you hope. All I am noting is that from my perspective, the outlook isn’t that optimistic for a free American people who stand on their own with little government assistance. (I am more Libertarian than any other party.)

Yeah, I don’t see it as seditious, just a protest that went out of control. Had they stayed, then it might be.

BTW, the shirtless guy with the horns…apparently a big Qanon supporter from Arizona.

I wonder if he can wear those horns in prison?

Eliminate unrequested mail in ballots. Want a mail in ballot? Request one from the election board like all absentee ballot users have for years. The local election board knows who are living eligible registered voters. How about voter ID? You have to show an ID at the bank, to cash a check, buy alcohol, drive a car. Hell, they ask for your ID at the doctors office along with your insurance card! I know that might sound like ā€œTrumpianā€ rhetoric but seriously, it’s offensive to ask someone to prove who they are to be able to exercise their US citizen right to vote?
