Dude…I seriously appreciated your
Input. Yes there are people in Britain who dislike our president. Is it a majority? Or is this just opinion as some one suggested.
I genuinely apologize if I read you wrong on this one. We’ve crossed swords many time in the past and I simply assumed you were attempting humor.
the sensibilities of the sophisticated British are housed in the ministry of silly walks…
I’m sitting in a cabin in the woods. Mind mind is calm and not full of vitriol. I’m a different person here. It’s cold where I am…but got a nice fire, and just ate a good dinner. With a good local beer. Totally honest with ya!
Life is good!
Sounds divine.
Yep. My observation is that most Europeans love Democrats and hate Republicans. They loved Bill Clinton, hated George W. Bush, and loved Obama especially in his first term. Loathing of Trump is just a continuation of that trend.
By European standards, US Democrats are middle of the road, and Republicans are “far-right”. American concepts of freedom of speech are also foreign to most Europeans; some of Trump’s comments could get him sent to trial in many countries.
Yeah man!!!
Yep, I bet Trump does not even know how to queue.
Wow. That’s great stuff.
Love the last line.
He gets a lot of support because of that. A lot of supporters really dig watching him do what they know is wrong and would not dream of doing themselves in responsible company.
Probably never had to.
Sensibilities of sophisticated British?
Is this a joke thread?
Only to you…i guess
And yet here you are on this forum. Go figure.
At least I have an excuse. My kids are in the living room watching “The Pirate Fairy” (its Tinkerbell) and I’m hiding out in my room.
I’d love to be fishing, but it’s 40 degrees and I can’t see the lake 50 feet away.
What comments by Trump could result in a criminal prosecution if they were said in one of the EU states?
Dont fret. Republicans have Russia, Saudi Arabia, and North Korea on your side
Language that authorities find may cause “distress” are grounds for arrest in the UK, although enforcement can be selective and arbitrary:
Among the panoply of other British hate speech laws is Section 5 of the POA, which makes it a crime to use or display threatening, abusive, or insulting words “within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm, or distress thereby.” Indeed, it was under this incredibly low threshold that Christian hoteliers Ben and Sharon Vogelenzang, accused by a Muslim patron of calling Muhammad a “warlord”, were charged, but ultimately acquitted, in 2009. Conversely, Harry Taylor, an atheist who placed drawings satirizing Christianity and Islam in an airport prayer room, was convicted in April 2010 under Section 5 and given a six-month prison sentence.
After the english elections, maybe the author was wrong?
The Brexit vote helped inspire the election of Trump. It showed the common man that it could be done…in spite of all the forces working against them. Then those establishment forces turned against Brexit for over the last 2 years…making promises and then breaking them…all for the goal of wearing the common man down. Then that momentum that elected Trump, jumped back across the ocean and created a whole new Brexit party. Bam…did that ever rock this last election.
There’s a movement happening all over where the common man is unitedly uprising against what’s being pushed down their throats…and winning, winning, winning.
