Another fine example of democrats preserving evidence for an investigation!

You prolly meant that comment for Auto.

They can do it remotely. Finding it through location data isn’t useful without control over physical access to the device. It’s safer to just delete everything on the phone before going to get it. The consequences of someone picking it up and getting into it are much worse than the inconvenience of wiping it.

you can see anything you like, there is no way in hell all of them ā€œforgotā€ their pass codes at the same time just when the phones are to be turned in. you’d have to be a complete moron to believe it. there is no way in hell this is true

Try reading that again.

It nowhere condones the idea that phones may have been purposefully wiped.

The post simply refutes your statement: ā€œphones don’t wipe themselves from wrong pass codes, they lockā€

That statement is wrong.

If the individuals purposefully whipped their phones in an illegal manner as means of evading government records retention, they I fully support punishment and even criminal prosecution to the fullest extent of the law. As has been already pointed out:

  1. Yes phones can be set to self wipe after x failed login attempts.
  2. Government phones are centrally managed so this may not even be an option to turn off.
  3. The number of failed attempts is lower than for the average commercial user.

Now please share with us your thoughts on Ivanka and Jared using private email accounts and WhatApps (private message app where messages self delete) to conduct official government business as a means to evade record retention requirements?

your Trump hate whataboutism ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  is not true. I know you all love to hate Trump and his kids by extension but that old meme is dead. All of their official communications were forwarded for retention and there was no attempt to evade anything.

and there is no if in this, it is beyond belief that 27 people all just happened to do something that accidentally wiped their phones just when the IG asked for them. So lets be real, you don’t care, your leftist buddies don’t care, anything to get or stymie Trump is perfectly acceptable for all of you.

further, lets be real about the IG’s whitewash of the investigation. How is it he could conclude anything about bias given this? How is it he did not refer charges for obstruction against the entire Mueller team? This one act is more proof of obstruction than any of the fantasy theories anyone followed about Trump.

There is a only 1 reason to use WhatsApp and it’s not transparency

The article doesn’t say 27 people did anything. It says 15 phones were wiped prior to being handed over to the IG. I am assuming they are government phones. They have zero control over how that happens. One person says it wiped itself… which could be 100% of government phones managed by MDM

Records on government phones are stored server side. The IG may have had all the records in their possession. We don’t have enough information to determine one way or another.

The hypocrisy of the liberal left is just breathtaking. I hope we reach a point where Weissman, Page, that entire crew that tried to run this coup d’état against the current and legitimately elected president are tossed into jail cells.

The definition of words continues to be slaughtered all for the sake of arghl

If this is indeed fact, how do we govern, in any manner?

By limited it…specially it’s powers.

Specifically, how?

Are there any governments on the globe, that is doing it in the manner you recommend?

No…but again no other government has our constitution and BoR’s.

Facts still remain…FBI can do as they believe without any repercussions. When it’s their own they say lack of candor or less then truthful…see McCabe for example. When it’s a target they say lying…see Flynn.

But again I know I’m wasting my time here because ā€œsomeā€ will split hairs to justify their own hypocrisy.

Fact also is they can make whatever claim they want to justify spying, wiretapping on individuals without any system to put them in checks and balance…see Carter Page.

Agreed. It’s arrogance to make such an absurd claim.

I am quite confident, among the 100’s of nations out there, there are similar types of constitutions and/or list of rights included that we have.

I also agree any representative, democratic style government needs to be transparent, and answerable to the people it represents. And yes, we can, and need to do better.

What I do not see is the current administration doing anything close to what you are suggesting.

It also appears that the DOJ under Barr has become a defense legal team for the POTUS, vs what it is supposed to be doing. Does that bother you?

27 phones out of how may overall?

No there isn’t…we are only nation that granted those powers to our government with strict limitations.

Yes we need to be transparent. No Trump isn’t doing enough…but IMO he far more transparent then Obama…far more but still far from being enough.

You mean Barr being Trump wingman?

So you believe it was accident?

Did I say that? I am genuinely curious 27 phones out of how many? I have not determined any conclusions as of yet.

how many phones do 18 angry democrats need?

According to a 2012 study published in the New York University Law Review , however, the influence of the U.S. Constitution may be waning. The study examined more than 700 federal constitutions from nearly 200 countries. ā€œRather than leading the way for global constitutionalism, the U.S. Constitution appears instead to be losing its appeal as a model for constitutional drafters elsewhere,ā€ the researchers write. ā€œThe idea of adopting a constitution may still trace its inspiration to the United States, but the manner in which constitutions are written increasingly does not.ā€[14][15] In particular, the study found that the U.S. Constitution guarantees relatively few rights compared to the constitutions of other countries and contains less than half (26 of 60) of the provisions listed in the average bill of rights. It is also one of the few in the world today that still features the right to keep and bear arms; the only others are the constitutions of Guatemala and Mexico. Overall, the research suggests that the Constitution of Canada, revised in 1982, is now a leading international model rather than that of the United States.[14][15]

Barr Trump’s wingman? nah…but as AG, he does not appear to be independent.
