I will agree it is not ubiquitous and varies according to several factors.
Do you agree it is indeed happening at the institutions and degree programs from which government bureaucrats and other power brokers are drawn?
Academia and law for example? Yale School of Government?
Good parents, no doubt. Are parents competing with schools if those beliefs are in conflict?
Are peer groups included in “institutions”?
College and graduate schools are replete with indoctrination. Yes.
It’s not just lib though. Are you referencing people like Hacker and Pierson?

Indoctrination can take many forms. So to your point, are teachers intentionally indoctrinating our young overtly? Of course not. Are our young being indoctrinated? Of course they are. Same would hold true if our education system was primarily dominated by conservatives. If that were the case, they would be more inclined to be self-sufficient and not dependent on someone else. That’s pretty straightforward stuff.

Self-sufficiency, the myth of boot strapping etc are a wholly different topic.
Actually I was contrasting the victimhood mentality with one of self sufficiency. Big government versus small government. Our young today are taught to be victims in need of rescuing by big government.
No they are not. Neither directly nor indirectly.
That you don’t see the difference between the importance of government despite its bureaucratic insufficiencies and relying on government to solve problems is the very thing that separates us. I am not going to argue dogma. That’s gonna fail

Yes they are and it’s completely understandable.

Maybe we are using the term differently. When I use it, it means a hand up, not a hand out. The minimum absolutely necessary to keep from falling off the cliff. No force. And humble and grateful about it, not owed.
I have no issue with mutual aid societies, resource sharing, etc. I have a big problem with government force.
Fire Departments are a good example. Volunteer vs. Funded. And if people vote for funded I’m ok with that.
I’m not ok with fiats by egg-headed bureaucrats deciding “the greater good”. Which is what we have.
