So do preachers, parochial school teachers, home schooling parents, and of course Sunday school teachers.

It would seem this is the issue. Iāve been to church. A lot. Including Sunday School. Some deep redneck preachers.
Never heard one of them say anything about guns while preaching or teaching. I have heard a couple of them talk about homosexuality and abortion, as sins, out of the Bible. Not in Sunday school. And not hate the sinner. Not turn your homosexual child out of your house.
One of the issues with religion and politics is that they are both entirely emotion (faith) based. We do not use ālogicā when making most of our decisions; and never with religion and politics.
Are there people who take a teaching and run it off a cliff? Sure.
The simple logistics of the comparison favors the progressive agenda.
A dedicated Sunday school goer gets an hour on Sunday morning, then an hour sermon - 2 hours.
Wednesday night prayer meeting another hour, thatās 3.
Maybe Sunday night service - 4
Four hours a week.
School starts at 8. Ends at 3:30. 7.5 hours less .5 for lunch. 5 days a week. Thatās 35 hours a week. For 16 years. Of the most formative years. Without parental supervision. 12 of which are mandated by the government. Which is not going to teach them how to beat it.
