Maybe you didn’t hear me? The division is coming for all corners of the country…newspapers, television, radio, social media and the WH. What I find amusing is that Trump is smacking back on the attacks. The CNN/Lanny Davis episode that’s the most current is a perfect example. How many have lit their hair on fire over this and now ask yourself, were you one of them?
What is the price of smacking back that you’re willing to tolerate? Any presidency in history would have been sunk by criminal convictions in a conspiracy to defraud the American electorate by covering up campaign payments to a pornstar which were a coverup for an extramarital affair that the candidate had while his wife recovered from childbirth. How can anyone, but religious people in particular, excuse that behavior?
There is a difference between being attacked and observing reality.
ie: When someone says something like “Trump was classless by raising the flag back up and not saying anything kind about John McCain”, well, I guess is kind of an attack, but it also is the simple reality. That is what Trump did, and how he was overwhelmingly received.
But trump supporters…they absolve him of responsibility and attack the observer.
or a more obvious example:
Trump lied about his crowd size. Pointing that out…is that an attack? To trump supporters it is. And it turns into a fight because they won’t admit trump lied…
Trump tweets lies daily. That is an observation. Not an attack. But his supporters will argue the objective reality of the statement.
That’s the problem with supporting a liar. You are forced to use blindly get teh fangs out and fight against reality.
On this board, think about it - we hardly debate policy anymore. 90% of our time is spent with one side pointing out reality and the other side denying it. There isn’t even any time left to get down to the real issues at hand.
Well he does fight small businesses and not pay them the money he owes them. He does try to fight Trump U students in court after he conned them. He does fight to make sure that his multiple wives and girlfriends don’t find out about his mistresses. So he is kind of a fighter.
It’s because they are deplorable. Hillary was wrong, it’s all Trump supporters, not half. If they cared remotely about anything they claimed to (besides the blatant racism), they’d get rid of Trump and go with Pence. But they don’t. They like the petty crassness, they love the lies and deception. they love the chaos and the shredding of our alliances, they love the blatant authoritarianism (and they often demand it go further), they love the lawlessness and corruption - they basically love Evil. They’re worshiping hedonism and debauchery and they don’t care who gets hurt - even if it’s theirselves.
It’s horrendous and sad. Back when I was still Republican (a mere three years ago… before the dark times…) I never beleived the Democrats were evil - just wrong.
But the Trumpism movement? It is evil. There is no other explanation.
IMO…it’s more like…you’ve never, ever woken up to the fact that it’s really one party…united to keep us divided. Hopefully…one day…“we” can all say…“the sleeper has awakened”?
This nonsense is easily shown by the vastly different swing in policy that happens any time the other party is in charge. “Theyre all a secret cabal” is balderdash, and it’s doubly stupid that you beleive that and then put your hope is a petty reality show TV star with a history of racism, scamming people, and grifting. Even with your own theory you literally picked the single worst person on earth to try and fix it.
Yes we know. Pointing out how awful he is makes you love him even more. Because you love the awfulness. You revel in it. The stench of awfulness drips off you like a fine perfume - one that sends anyone who isn’t awful fleeing from the room in terror.
And then you wonder why you don’t have friends anymore. At least, none that haven’t themselves bathed in awfulness.
