Nonetheless the meeting happened, and Trump “offered” troops at least that much is factual, as evidenced by Mayor Bowser rejection letter of Jan 5th included herein.
P.S. I predict this particular committee will NEVER include in their final report most anything that is inconsistent with the narrative they’re after.
Point out where is says that in the article, please- that Trump or his admin offered them. I know it says "Trump has previously said that he requested National Guard troops be ready for January 6. He released a statement on June 9 that he “suggested & offered” up to 20,000 National Guard troops be deployed to Washington, DC, ahead of January 6 claiming it was because he felt “that the crowd was going to be very large.” But he is a liar, as you know.
Too late, as it looks like the cat is out of the bag here. Too bad Bowser didn’t have a genie at the time as she probably wishes a formal rejection of troops response did not go out for Jan 6th. Now the entire world see’s how politically motivated this mayor really was/is…
According to Kash Patel who has been interviewed on numerous radio and television shows, President Trump apparently did an outstanding job here of proactively making it known to an assortment of people in charge including the Capitol Police under Pelosi and Major Bowser that an offer for up to 20,000 was approved. Even General Milley, the chairman of the Joints Chiefs of Staff was said by KP to be in attendance when #45 introduced this very offer.
