Ukraine doesn’t want peace until they kick the Russians out. I would think their opinion should carry some weight.
The reality is that Ukraine has to make gains tho. If they don’t there will be enormous pressure from the West to create a peace plan- which would ultimately look like letting Russia keep what they have occupied.
I dont know if even that would satisfy Putin tho. He may want to keep on fighting in some form of perpetual war.

100% agreed Ukraine has the right to do what they want whether through diplomacy or force it’s the US taxpayer being put on the bill that many of us have issue with. That’s even before watching Western Europe slip us the finger while running into the arms of the CCP.
