Prime Minister are not elected they are appointed by the House, for him to be removed a majority of sitting MP would need to vote that they lost confidence in the Prime Minister. Since the current government is a minority meaning that the majority of MP are not part of the governing party its quite common

the issue would be getting the opposition parties to agree.

so far only the Conservative party has voice support for protesters, NDP and Bloc have voice opposition.
