I don’t know the answer to that. I will find out when I get my vote by mail ballot.

In my state that is how its done. That is, if the incumbent President is running for re-election then his/her political party gets 1st position left to right on the general election ballot. Assuming that is the case in North Carolina too, would you believe that it is a slight edge for those who might support GOP all the way down ballot if their choice for President is voting for the incumbent?

I think ballot order makes little difference in high profile races, particularly partisan races.

Ballot order is probably much more influential in low profile races and non-partisan races.
