What happens to discretionary effort when it goes unrecognized and unrewarded?
I’m assuming you meant “unrewarded”.
All of those volunteers were paid for their time.
Yes I did, thank you for the correction.
They were paid for their time at their home hospital. They went to the Epicenter ■■■■ Hole because of discretionary effort.
You didn’t answer the question.

It’s the hospitals that volunteered to send people.
Do you think they were unrewarded?

Do you know they were?
Who’s paying them to work in NYC?
The “reward” for the hospitals is publicity. A line on an investor’s statement.
Who’s paying them to work in NYC?
Who made them go?
I know that my wife’s hospital network offered inducements to some doctors and staff to go to NYC.
I imagine the situation may differ from hospital to hospital, but I have no doubt Johhs Hopkins is not an aberration.

Why? They were paid.
Meh, it’s a ■■■■ hole anyway.
They were paid more to go to NYC.
I thought that was clear.

I thought that was clear.
Why?
…
Because it’s good publicity.
And something about the hippocratic oath.

And because you have to pay extra to get people to go to a ■■■■ hole. NYC should have to pick up the extra. Ungrateful ■■■■■■
Of course, that must be it.
They would have been paid if they stayed and worked in their home states as well and would not have been screwed on their taxes and ■■■■■■ working/living conditions in NYC.
Next time NY is in need and can’t find volunteers to come to their rescue maybe they’ll reconsider.
For most of the “volunteers”, I imagine the reason why they volunteered in the first place is more important to them than paying an extra $20-$50 bucks in taxes.
I agree. Isn’t it too bad that that goodwill was not reflected by their host they came to help?

Next time they may turn a deaf ear to NY.
As they should.
Cuomo and Deblasio blew it and expect everyone else to clean up after them.
Sticking these volunteers with an added tax burden just shows how bankrupt they are at every level.
I wonder if NY assessed taxes against out of state volunteers like lineman from power companies after Hurricane Sandy?
The Angels and the T-Birds gonna get a tax bill for flying over NYC?
What a ■■■■■■■ petty individual Cuomo is.
