There are plenty of UNELECTED crazy people who make crazy comments on both sides of the political spectrum.
The fact you want to use that to justify the PRESIDENT’s low brow behavior with some comment Madonna made is a joke.

They don’t, but pollsters want you to believe that. Just like they wanted you to believe that Hillary had a 95% chance of winning in 2016.
I know very well the things said about Obama, the nasty names etc. I detest the man and everything he stands for but I have never “dreamed of blowing up the White House” or doing violence against anyone for that matter. I’m guessing that if anyone, especially a white guy, had made such a comment when Obama was in office, that guy would have gotten a personal visit from the secret service. Let’s also see what happens if someone publicly called for the harrassment of a congressman or Senator. There is a difference between peaceful protest and resistance and calls for harrassment. Many people ACTUALLY HAVE been harrassed and assaulted for nothing more than wearing a hat! This us acceptable to you?
You mean like the white guy you just quoted who fantasized about shooting Obama in the head?
I probably meant that for someone else- but this: If Trump is so popular, why do a majority of Americans support his impeachment?
Maybe because he isn’t as popular as some people think.

Democrats aren’t used to Republicans who fight back…
Sorry to burst your bubble, but hoping his national support is anywhere close to the same as at his rallies is going to leave you very disappointed.
Heard it before. Same song different verse as in 2016.
LOL. Hang on to your hope as long as it gets you through the day.
Irony Award winner of the day. It is you that is hoping. Just like last time.
Haven’t read the posts in this thread award. An airplane just flew over your head at 30,000 ft.
You guys were talking big last time too. Really big.
That’s "Really Bigly "
Hey. If losing the popular vote by 3 million in 2016 and historically poor approval ratings make you feel warm and fuzzy, more power to you.

Yeah, yeah, they’re ALL in on it.

All the charges they are throwing at him over his Ukraine conversation.
His own WH memo shows he abused the power of his office, nothing phony there.
by doing what, exactly?

Polls show that Trump has a 'base" of about 35% of the electorate who, to this point, will support Trump no matter what. These are the people who attend Trump’s rallies and Trump clearly enjoys basking in their adulation.
In head to head polls against the main Democratic candidate Trump polls in the low 40’s
To get back to the one in seven chance of victory that the polls were giving Trump in November 2016 (and which he converted into the win), Trump needs to recapture 6-7% of support he has lost since then. Is that achievable? Of course it is.
However the question is how well Trump’s off-script performance helps him recapture that 6-7%, many of whom have started to vote Democratic because they are disturbed by Trump’s style and who no longer believe Trump is handling the economy well.
Rallying the base is fun but the tactical question is, does holding events for the faithful retrieve or alienate the additional voters Trump must convince to give him another four years in the White House.
A very well thought out and reasoned response. I wouldn’t put much faith in any polls right now. A lot can happen in 13 months. Perhaps the Democrats will find something substantial to stick on Trump, or perhaps something substantial will come out in Biden or Warren. Right now, the public is predominantly hearing only the Democrat side of the Ukraine call issue. The Democrats haven’t had a vote because many of them know that the charges against Trump are marginal at best, and they don’t want to commit to impeach should the mood of the voters turn against them. I believe they are wasting their time on this issue and if they keep crying wolf against Trump, the independents and undecideds will come to the conclusion that Trump’s rallying cry of “Witch hunt” will be believed and they will vote to give Trump 4 more years. Democrats are in a precarious situation.
I agree with you that polls thirteen months out are very unreliable… but they are the clues we. have to go on.
I am not sure why you believe the public is only hearing the Democratic side of impeachment. The Democrats are pursuing their investigations while there has been non-stop public appearances by the President, Giuliani and numerous Republican supporters given their impressions of the impeachment effort. There was an uproar last week when the Sunday talk shows were blanketed by Republican attacks on the impeachment with hardly a Democrat in sight.
JayJay: Optrader: JayJay: Cynic:Madonna? You have to be joking,
Yes because we should hold entertainers to a higher standard than the President of the United States.
What do you think the response would have been if someone, especially a famous entertainer, had made the comment about dreaming to blow up the White House when Obama was president?
I don’t know…what was the response of the conservative media when Ted Nugent told Obama he could suck on his (Nugent’s) machine gun?
Is that the kind of stuff you’re looking for?
I’d post the video link but I’d probably get in trouble.

I asked you…what do you think the response of the conservative media was when Ted Nugent said that?
The statements of people like Madonna and Kathy Griffin and the like were universally condemned…hell what little was left of Griffin’s career was ruined over it.
Optrader: Jezcoe: Optrader:And by " normal" you mean extreme leftist.
So, any insult or threat can be hurled at Trump and Republicans and conservatives, but Donald Trump should not reply in kind? BTW, if for the sake of discussion, I granted Trumps call to Ukraine as an impeachable offense, what impeachable offense did he commit prior to January 20th 2017?Obama was not an extreme leftist.
Right, just because he was weaned on Saul Alinskys’ rules for radicals, attended a black liberation church for 20 years and began his political career in the home of a left wing terrorist, in no way, shape or form is any indication of his political views… Only Republicans should be judged by the company they keep.
Another invocation of the standard rule of liberal hypocrisy.
He was not an extreme leftist.
He was a center left corporatist with Third Way/ Neoliberal tendencies.
Exactly. Well put. Only in the bizzaro world reaches of the propaganda filled opinion outlets feeding the daily slop of fear and paranoia would Obama have been considered an extreme leftist. Reality is exactly in line with your definition of him.

Yes, he’s not afraid to jump down into the sewer where liberals love to wallow. They have called him and his family unspeakable things. Why exactly should he not stoop to their level? Because they are so nice to him?
President Obama’s family was treated bad along with Obama and he didn’t have to act like a 12 year old.
Obama didn’t have near the hate and vitriol hurled at him that Trump has. Did any Hollywood actor talk of wanting to blow up the White House? Any actor talk of wanting to punch him in the face? Was anyone in the right screeching about impeaching him from his first day in office? Was anyone on the right calling for Democrats or liberals to be publicly harrassed out of restaurants or other public places? Did Republicans shoe him the contempt Nancy Pelosi showed towards Trump at his State of the union speech? Did Republicans refuse to attend Obama’s SOTU speech? Did any musician or group tell Obama or his campaign that he couldn’t use their music? Did any comedian hold a faux severed and bloody head of Obama up as a “joke”?
Please… There is no comparison between the way Trump is treated and the way Obama was treated.
Republicans openly vowed to block and obstruct everything Obama did, democrats have done nothing of that sort.
Too funny. Ever hear the word “resistance”?
