Why do you on the Left support something that has no basis in logic or science, is largely harmful and whose damage is irreversible?

:+1:t4: Right on! :fist:t5:

Crit the cribs and classrooms?

The Queen of the queens. They is Judith Butler, the Maxine Elliot Professor in the Department of Comparative Literature and the Program of Critical Theory at Berkeley.

A 67 year-old lesbian out of Yale who is the grandthey of a lot of this ā€œqueer theoryā€ crap. It’s just more neo-Marxism.

First define the terms boy/man & girl/woman, which those on the Left won’t do. You want ā€œtransā€ to be something real on the one hand but on the other hand be rooted in terms that you can’t define.

A recurring issue with crits.

I don’t know what the point is here.

We can biologically define male and female and that applies to the vast majority of people. Some are born intersex so they are defined as that.

The vast majority of people are born with a sexual identity that finds attraction in the opposite sex. So most people are defined as heterosexual while the minority who have sexual attraction to that same sex are defined as homosexual.

The vast majority of people are born with a gender identity that match their sex. A small minority of people do not. They are defined as Trans.

I know that that is simplistic… but it isn’t hard to define things. Also… nature doesn’t care about our definitions.

Which is arbitrary! What are these characteristics that define a so-called gender??? So, if a boy growing up finds that he likes flowers, does that mean he’s trans??? What if a boy like makeup??? Many men in professional wrestling use makeup. If a girl likes insects does that make her trans??? Please tell us (@SixFoot, @WuWei, @Smyrna_ILJ, @gooddad409, @Samm, etc.) what are these definable characteristics that can be tested scientifically that determine if a person is trans.

Liking flowers and using make up is not necessarily an expression of gender.

Which is exactly along the arguments many of us have been making. Again I’ll ask, what are these definable characteristics that can be tested scientifically that determine if a person is trans?

The condition is known as gender dysphoria. It is the overwhelming feeling that one’s gender does not match their sex.

Do we agree that gender dysphoria is a thing?

Doesn’t answer my question.

Well we have to agree on a common reality first.

Do you think that gender dysphoria is a real thing?

I believe it is a real mental diagnosis.

Okay great.

What is the treatment for it?

Yes or no…is their existence more related to genetics or the environment around them during their development?

Not anymore real than species dysphoria, which is when a person has an overwhelming feeling that the species of who they are in their mind doesn’t match their bodies. Not anymore real than race dysphoria, which is when a person has an overwhelming feeling that the ethnicity they were born with does not match the ethnicity one feels in their mind. Not anymore real than eye color dysphoria, which is when a person has an overwhelming feeling that the eye color they are born with doesn’t match the eye color they believe fits who they are. Not anymore real than economic class dysphoria, which is when the economic class they were born in doesn’t match the economic class they feel they should be in in their mind. Shall I go on?

I don’t think that anyone knows enough to make that determination.

Okay… so since you don’t think that it is a real thing… we have nothing more to discuss.

Yes…there’s plenty because genetics doesn’t increase thousands of percentage points in a few years but environmental influences do. You know that’s true but chose not to admit it meaning…you are a part of this very problem and should be ashamed. Many children will take their lives as a result of the insanity you’re pushing.
