Who knew that Sweden and Poland would be leading the fight for free speech?

They aren’t.

That’s not the idea. At all.

Um…what?

Is not the hiring of illegal immigrants illegal?

So in what way would enforcing the laws barring businesses from hiring illegals a “march towards fascism”?

I think @Jezcoe went overboard with seizing the business’ assets, but for sure something more than the current nod nod wink wink situation would help.

And be more effective than trying to create Fortress America.

Glad to hear you aren’t for it

Fascist law.

Why?

Cause it’s a dumb idea

You just said that you were concerned about not having friends due to inferring that from their advertisements.

What makes Twitter different than this site?

But forcing the baking of wedding cakes isn’t?

Wait a minute…laws barring the hiring of illegals are fascist, but laws and creating Fortress America to prevent illegals from coming here are not?

How does that work in your mind, exactly?

I though you said that was not the idea :joy:

Ok I’ll put you back on the other side…carry on about wedding cakes

Are conservatives really getting banned for being conservative? If that were the case, why are prominent conservatives still on Twitter?

Trump was banned for a reason, and it wasn’t him being conservative.

The barring of hiring imposes penalties on the private sector. Strong regimentation of economy and society.

The barring of entry is between the alien and the government.

That is the difference.

It wasn’t.

You are discriminating.

It imposes no penalty on the private sector…they simply should not be hiring illegal immigrants.

Your solution is impractical and ridiculous, and is a major reason why we are in this mess.

The position of arresting people who hire undocumented labor and then seizing their property is an extreme one. I will admit that.

But it is a position that will bring a resolution to the issue quicker than anything else I can imagine.

It might not be the resolution that every likes… but it would be a resolution.

For sure this idea that we should enact tedious, ineffective and expensive solutions (which penalize the private sector more, BTW) because of some philosophical belief, is quite ridiculous.

Of course it does. Asplundh paid $95M in fines for not enforcing fascist law. For providing means for a better life to poor people who just came here for a better life.

The claim that they will stop coming because of hiring law is absurd to anyone who has ever been there. The worst day in the US with our social programs is better than their best day in a barrio in San Pedro Sula. They are fleeing to a better teat.

And then there’s who hires them. You going to lock up their cousins over a line on a map? This isn’t the first time this has been tried. Last time it worked for two months - in the winter.

My solution?

Myth. Pure myth.

You would deny them work while offering them social assistance? And you think that will work?
