Are they not the bourgeois? I don’t have several houses worth millions.
Sexes, gender, race, disability.
You know equality.
Allan
They are. But they have convinced themselves that they are not.
How do we measure that?
Tom_Ch:Or Sweden or Switzerland.
Population of Switzerland is 8 million.
Twice the size of New Jersey.
That’s like one of our states.
Ahhh. The old “it won’t work because USA is so big” excuse.
Sweden and Switzerland don’t have an open border with millions of the world’s impoverished flooding across it. They also have very strict policies on immigration and actually enforce those laws. Just do the math, offer free everything from birth to one’s mid 20’s and invite as many as the world’s impoverished citizens in who can get on our soil.
A better comparison is India and China since those are the only two countries with populations higher than the US.
In what world are open borders a utopian goal?
Being overrun by the third world isn’t my idea of utopia.
And a 15 hour work week? Even the French have a 30 hour work week.
Read the book.
It is interesting.
I am not advocating all of his suggestions.
I just want to know what my annual wealth accumulation is going to be and where racism is leaving.
Swedes start paying into their social safety net system early and they pay a lot which is why they swiftly closed the doors to immigration around 2016 because it was simply crushing their safety nets. The left wants non stop immigration not a big social safety net like Sweden and Switzerland you can’t have both pick the one you want more. Sweden found out the people coming in were taking out a lot more than putting in which doesn’t take and economic expert to figure out.
Well put!
I’ll keep it in mind. It’s on Apple Books digitally?
Sweden isn’t what it used to be and way less hospitable to expats since 2015. One will get a totally different experience living in Sweden than they would traveling to it, think working in Japan (Did that for six months). What you want isn’t going to happen with 100 different identity groups wanting to be treated in different ways.

We’re not Sweden or Switzerland we are ratatouille.
And it doesn’t have to be people coming in, just people not paying in.
Not sure…I listened to it on Audible.
And it doesn’t have to be people coming in , just people not paying in .
Like the wealthy and Corporations (AKA persons) not paying taxes?
I can only speak for myself. But as far as I’m concerned, there has never been about an end goal.
It’s about doing you can to make things better, with the understanding that better means slowing the worst, rather than achieving the best.

Do they take out of safety nets?

Ok, weak and I addressed this hogswallop in the OP, but fine.
What will it look like when it’s “better”? How much will I have? Where will racism be? What will be taught in K-12?
Do they take out safety nets?
Irrelevant.
Are you not familiar with privatize the profits, socialize the losses?
That causes more damage that immigration.

How is it irrelevant? I don’t own a corporation. They aren’t drawing down my safety net.
How much am I going to have?
Utopian ideals sound good when an “intellectual” writes it down on their notepad by their desk.
Once it’s said out loud, it will be quickly picked apart. And if put into practice, will result equally shared misery like it always does.
Which is why all revolutionary intellectuals end up as political recluses and exiled, kicked out of their own revolutions and watching their naive worldview destroyed by the power of men who use it for true power.
It’s also because virtually all the power resides within a very small group and can only be influenced by another small group with sufficient funds.
What will it look like when it’s “better”? How much will I have? Where will racism be? What will be taught in K-12?
You’re not understanding. There is no end goal. I am not seeking anything.
There is no better future that I can imagine.
Libs here are saying the exact same thing that Castro has said.
