You so, so need that to be true for the Dems. You still donāt realize you made the Tea Party, which morphed into MAGA, which is still evolving and growing.
MAGA as we know it wonāt exist, as it wonāt be centered around a person, but the elements of nationalism in MAGA will be carried in some form just like the distrust in governmental institutions in the Tea Party morphed into MAGA.
Did the New Deal continue after FDR was gone? Nobody called it that, as it was largely a campaign, slogan. But the people FDR brought into the party and the ideologies of those people made the Democratic Party different than it was before FDR.
Oh, I donāt know. My brother is 82 and he is just as feisty and ornery and determined to upset the status quo as he ever has been. Age is a state of mind as long as the body holds up.
I think MAGA will dwindle like the Tea Party did. Itās difficult to maintain the momentum of emotional movements. It just takes too much energy to be sustained at such a high intensity without a narrowly focused cause.
Rubio in particular would be a natural choice to become the champion for the Republicans, but Trump and his cronies have so demeaned him that he wouldnāt stand a chance to fill his shoes. Heād probably lose the true believers to someone like Vance, but then Vance would lose the more moderate Republicans to Rubio. Noem is also a good choice for a higher level leadership position, but she too is incapable of carrying Trumpās MAGA banner.
Thatās simple ⦠Do what Trump says to do without question. If Trump stays involved in 2029, they might hang around as a cohesive political force, but if he turns his back on politics and retires to one of his hotels on a golf course, they will splinter and diminish in influence.
Yep. Which is why I was deeply grieving the loss of my dear old dog for more than six months and still have āmomentsā (like right now as I write this)15 months after her passing.
Itās odd. As much as I loved my parents, and every now and then miss them, I never really grieved for them. Sad, yes, but not grief. Perhaps it was because they lived good respectable lives to 89 and 98 respectively and their passing was both expected and peaceful. Dogs though, can really touch your soul.
