What will happen to MAGA in 2029?

Hear! Hear!

If he was mister nice guy the lib media would have destroyed him.

He would have would up on the trash heaps just like Romney.

Then we would have endured 8 years of Hillary most likely.

There (could have been) a huge difference between Romney and a Statesman Trump. Trump could have had his same policies (which is still what’s going to make him great) but not be such a childish boor.

In my opinion, he still could have been just as strong politically and personally without the namecalling, without the taunting, WITH a better filter on his mouth.

But that’s just my opinion. And I do not completely discard the possibility that who Trump really is today was the only way he could have succeeded.

And we’ll never know for sure.

So maybe we should have a thread on what will happen to Democrats after 2029, and Trump is gone? Is men in womens sports enough to keep a party going?

Are you most women?

They care. I don’t believe it’s changing votes. It is keeping people home.

you think that this issue is keeping people home and away from the voting booths.

i completely disagree.

we shall see in 17 months.

Not sports but the trans movement in general. The dems blind acceptance of it - yes that kept it people home imo

Trump is a manifestation of bully/hate culture that has infected conservatives over the last 15 years or so.

His supporters love his bully tactics. They love his name calling. They love his rants on Holidays. The policy is secondary. You know how I know? Because there were several Presidential candidates that had ā€œMAGA policiesā€ that didn’t even get close to Trump in the primaries.

Trump is not charismatic. He’s just a dick with money.

I recall back during the 2016 campaign, a couple of attempts to remake Trump into someone more respectable. I found it humorous as Trump gave it a good college try. I seem to recall it lasted for all of a couple of days.

When I look back on the 2016 field of 16 GOP candidates, one person clearly stuck out. He had no political experience. He was brash, rough around the edges, egotistical. He had pet names for all of his challengers.

I don’t see how any of the other candidates would have stood a chance against Hillary. Hillary was the quintessential stiff politician. Outside of Trump, all of the GOP candidates were just as stiff. It would have come down to political differences. But Hillary was the first female Presidential candidate with any chance to win. That would have been the deciding factor IMHO.

And then there was Trump. We’ve seen nothing like him before, and it is likely we will never see another like him. Love him or hate him, he is a force of nature.

I didn’t vote for a minister but rather a Prez with good policies.

:+1:

You are right. And that’s why a ton of people who dislike him and would never want to even meet him, still voted for him.

By the way, I have known some ministers that I didn’t like either …

This us for you @gooddad409
