Nazi references and comparisons are only allowed in strict historical discussions and usage.
The reference to Mein Kampf I was told got this thread closed followed that rule to a “T”.
Mein Kampf, just like The Doctrine of Fascism, The Communist Manifesto, Project 2025 and The Contract With America (1994) are all manifestos. Who wrote it or who supports it does not change that. And are all important documenys of political literature.
When Mein Kampf was published in 1925, nobody had any idea what the outcome would be.
Just like Project 2025, called Mandate for Leadership: The Conservative Promise, a 920 page manifesto. Which is being followed like a checklist.
Intellectual honesty and critical thinking is required for honest discussions.
The famous battle cries of the right when criticizing communism/socialism are “don’t learn from history; doomed to repeat it” and "sure they’ll get it right this time!-Not without merit.
It only applies to communism/socialism? That’s the only time comparisons are valid? “You want us to end up like Venezuela?!”
Look at the Marxist Dream Thread. 614 posts. Everything fair game?
How about a “Nazi Dream Thread”? Fair? Why not?
Why is every negative comment about communism/socialism ok, every reference living or dead?
Yet a reference to Mein Kampf triggers a fleeing to the MAGA motte?
Any member of this forum can call another member a communist and/or a socialist without repercussion. I’ve done it myself.
Yet a reference to the manifesto of fascists gets the entire thread closed. Nobody was called a Nazi in that thread. Nobody.
I get that you MAGA don’t like the comparison. Mussolini didn’t like Mein Kampf either. Your dislike does not make it invalid.
If I was ignorant and blind, I wouldn’t like it either. But I’m not.
You may be able to rationalize what they are doing. I won’t.
Is this forum now an echo chamber for Trump sycophants? No criticism of Dear Leader? Well, criticism is ok but not that one, not the one that follows the same model!
I suggest the rule quoted above be clarified. If historical references to Nazis are verboten, then no more references to Marxists either.
If Mein Kampf is prohibited, then so too should be The Communist Manifesto and Das Kapital and Project 2025.
We can call it WuWei’s Law. "As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving communists/socialists or Marx approaches one.
If you aren’t smart enough to defend your position with intellectual debate, I guess “gOdWin’s lAw” is always a choice. But it’s not an honest one.
If the fascist mirror is too tough to look into, don’t do fascist crap.
By the way, Marx was German too.
