I saw that question as a government versus the private sector kind of question. I answered yes, charity (private sector) is better than social security (government sector).
I’ve been a fan of The Political Compass test going back to its beginnings 25 years ago. I’ve discussed it at length on liberal forums and had members in those forums take the test. It has been discussed multiple times in this forum, going back before the reset.
I’ve yet to be surprised by a member’s test results. Despite the complaints, I’ve found it to be pretty accurate.
and here’s the rub, that is a libertarian view, but on this chart it only counts you as an economic conservative. Your not libertarian until you want Bruce to get a free abortion as soon as Brucella crosses the open border after getting knocked up by the traffickers who got her across
It’s not a valid test and these labels are shallow and robotic.
You are certainly welcome to your opinion.
You would need at least 500 questions and much more nuance and hairsplitting.and a false answer % like the minnesota multiphasic personality profile.
This isnt a personality test like the MMP. This is the same type of test that measures very accurately your leadership style…which I gave taken probably 10 times in my career. You dont need 500 questions to glean what your leader ship style is or what your political compass is.

1000 questions then.
Have to say I was surprised.
Just for ■■■■■ and giggles I did it again and selected strongly disagree on everything. This is the result.
1000 questions doesnt make it more accurate.

Nonsense. This “test” is not valid. It’s pop psychology.

Let’s step back for a second in order to better understand what you are looking for.
In my experience on multiple forums (liberal and conservative), the Political Compass test has provided a good peek into a forum member’s political leanings. I’ve yet to see a result that came as a shock, contradicting a forum member’s posting behavior.
So, what is it exactly you would be looking for with what you deem to be a more accurate test?
If the test is accurately showing known LIBs to be liberal and is accurately showing known CONs to be conservative, what more would you be looking for?
Would you be looking for a test that labels LIBs as centrist truth tellers and CONs labeled as radical RW liars?
Validity in testing is never based on subjectivity.
ALL the categories in this test, left, right, liberal, conservative, libertarian are based on pitifully incomplete, subjective definitions and various proposed and presumed, groupthink.
These categories in the real world involvin actual “parties” and presumably who people vote for, in solidarity with other voter and in the reality of a “poliitical forum” and how many boxes are checked between those with similar views to identify.who one’s allies are.
This is totally superficial as shallow and robotic, words I initially used to describe the validity of this test.
People are far more multidimensional then these categories and even these differences cannot be identified. A person taking this test can outright lie with answers in ways they perceive to coincide with the group they want. or pretend to want to be identfied with, no matter how quirky they may be ideologically or their unconscious or conscious drives. or mental insecurities, blocks and hidden defects effecting their objective lifestate

The variabity of the categories is infinite

IT’S just a fact that the political compass test is not comsiderrd a valid test. Look it up.
“The flaw extends beyond the test’s methodology to its very questions, which are crafted in a way that subtly nudges respondents towards the ‘libertarian left’ quadrant. Loaded queries, such as “Is one race superior to others?”, push individuals towards predetermined outcomes that align with the test creator’s own ideological biases. By conflating certain beliefs with authoritarianism or liberalism, the Political Compass perpetuates a skewed understanding of political ideology.”
It’s fake.
