no one is mandating EV.

red herring.

I’ve taken it before and it has majorly changed. There used to be a lot more, and far more insightful questions.
I got a middling right libertarian score this time. In the past I was at the bottom middle of the libertarian block.

no, its not. Its about the federal government not exercising powers it does not have. We are exactly where we should be, the federal government has nothing to say about abortion, its not a federal issue

they were. when you tell a company what percentage of new vehicles have to be EV’s, thats a mandate

very anti libertarian of you

who said it wasn’t?

None of the federal governments business

I got popups and couldn’t get it to finish. Oh well.

I’m of the opinion that ultimately political ideology is way too complex and varied to really build definitive tests for. It’s a neat thing yes, but I’m willing to bet most of the things people believe in don’t really come from a “left” or “right” paradigm at least internally.

agreed. also, libertarian is kind of wide open. tests like this assume civil liberties as understood by the left are “libertarian”, thats not exactly true. The constitution gaurantees a right to life, liberty and property. The right to life is dependent on how we define “person.” The right to liberty is curtailed when it infringes on another person’s rights, and the right to property does not extend to actually using that property. Libertarians are supposed to be constitutionalists, they are, when its convenient.

Been absent for a couple of days and just found this.

As to your memory, I’m wondering if it was me you are remembering. I’ve used the Political Compass avatar for years, long before the reset. I’ve refreshed it a couple of times over those years. With each iteration I find myself leaning more Libertarian.

As each of you post your results, I don’t see any real surprises.

The questions are intentionally framed in this fashion.

As an example:

Should religion be taught in schools at all. LIBs will more often say no, while CONs will more often say yes.

One could do the same with sexual orientation. Should our children be taught that kind of stuff, especially at an early age. CONs will more often say no. LIBs will more often say yes.

Nuancing the questions, kind of defeats the purpose of the test.

And yet it put you right where I would have guessed, based on your posting history.

Flag waving love it or leave it conservatives will most likely say yes. It is a given they might not agree with everything the US does, but that doesn’t change their intense love and support of this great country. I would expect most liberals to say no.

Kind of a glass half full - half empty.

Conservatives look at the good (half full), while liberals look at the bad (half empty).
