I mean, that’s what you get for not being perfectly obedient. If public order cannot be maintained by setting attack dogs on surrendering men, next The Anarchy.
A part of the story not mentioned is the guy was on 911 the entire time he was driving, he had no idea why dozens of cop cars were following him and was afraid to pull over. Sad that the dispatcher couldn’t have communicated with the cops and found out so the guy wouldn’t worry about…well it looks like he had every right to worry.
I’ll agree. But Ben Crump is an ambulance chaser. If he represents the trucker, he’ll reap a majority of the settlement. Trucker will be left with chump change.
The idea of contingent fees works BOTH for attorney and client. The attorney is motivated to represent the client zealously, since when the client does better, he does better. The client doesn’t face a fee if he loses.
It makes representation possible for people who otherwise could not afford attorneys.
I do believe that all states should restrict the maximum percentage to 33 1/3% and reform class action fees, which is where the bulk of attorney fee abuse occurs.
Actually, it does. Dead is far more serious than bitten. And he wasn’t bitten because of the mud flap. He was pulled over for that. Well, that and reusing to stop when flashed by the cop who was trying to pull him over. Had he not sped off down the road, no back-up, including the K-9 unit, would have been called by the pursuing officer and he wouldn’t have been in the situation where he got bit. He did not deserve to be bitten, but he was on the roadside on his knees entirely due to his own actions.
