I am pro-life, but I also believe the abortion issue belongs at the state level.
But that has nothing to do with the reason I stayed home for the mid-terms and have dropped out for the foreseeable future. I simply can no longer support GOP candidates who refuse to disavow Trump’s behavior and move on. And obviously I won’t support a DEM candidate. So, there you go.
Yeah, I agree. I just think there is more to it than that.
We’ll never know of course but I suspect that even without all the ■■■■■■■■ about the election, and the idiotic and dangerous down playing of J-6, the GOP’s ideas just don’t resonate with the electorate.
Yes, inflation is a problem. What did the GOP offer to solve it? Cut spending? Coming out of a pandemic? I just don’t think people want to hear that. We needed Trump’s pandemic giveaways, and we needed some from Biden too - IMO.
What else did they offer?
they screamed about crime, crime, crime, crime…all day and night. OK. No one likes crime.
But most people realize crime being up when compared to two years of locked down existence isn’t all that surprising, and the 30 year trend is, crime is way down.
Even if they didn’t realize that, what did the GOP offer? I can’t think of anything. I just know it won’t be gun control.
I guess what I;m saying is, maybe the formula of the opposing party doing nothing but standing around screaming about problems and reaping the benefits of the mid term is broken too.
I’ll leave it to the pundits to sort out ahead of 2024. One thing is certain for me though. Unless Trump decides to ride off into the sunset (which I seriously doubt), I will remain on the sidelines while enjoying my retirement.
Yeah, he won’t. He doesn’t care about the party. He doesn’t care about the country. He only cares about himself.
Yet another reason why character matters. All those GOPers guffawing about Trump owning the libs…excusing his complete lack of moral substance…‘but his policies!..’ well, reap what you sow.
there is a parable of the rattlesnake comes to mind. Not the poem Trump used in xenophobic rantings, but this one:
I so so so want this to be true. But where is the video footage LOL
We all know his temper tantrums are a real thing but anyhoo hopefully the time of the celebrity candidate is over. If Walker loses it is but who the ■■■■ knows what will happen in GA.
Personally, I’m with you on Trump, the guy is self-absorbed puerile ■■■■■■■■ but as far as I’m concerned, he’s no different than many of today’s self-absorbed, hate-mongering Left-wing politicians like Schumer, Pelosi, Clintin, Biden, etc. The Dem’s have many pieces of ■■■■ on their side as well. In the end for me it’s about policy. The Dem’s have made it clear that they want an open border, which I view as the single greatest threat to the country. They want us to believe that we can incessantly absorb an infinite number of all the world’s impoverished citizens and tell us, despite all logic to the contrary, that we will actually benefit from it. They push for the “teaching” of CRT and LGBTQ ■■■■■■■■ to young children, they support no cash bail, they happily let out people arrested of violent crimes back on the street to commit more violent crimes. But hey, I guess they’ll give us some free stuff!
But none of them attempted to overthrow our government because they didn’t like the election results. There are a great many in the GOP, including myself, who will not be able to get past that. Trump can’t be allowed back in office. IMHO
