Lol. Silly.
Reinforces my belief that polls are not all knowing. I am no statistician but I approach polls from the perspective of human behavior.
People lie, people are fickle, a lot of people cast their vote on election day without giving it a lot of thought. People live in the here and now so on election day its in part driven by how they feel there and then.
This is why elections give way to surprising results at times.
Every Republican President in the “the last few decades” has given you guys tax cuts and Conservative judges.
Tonight, I am very surprised that Dems control the Senate. Thank goodness.
If there is any lesson to be learned, it’s that Republicans need to learn to never buy into populism ever again.
Three seats were lost by populist Trump candidates. In an environment where they had the pre election advantage.
That says a lot.
Eh. Doesn’t matter to me.
Both parties are tyrants and thieves.
Call me a nihilist but that’s just my view. It all comes down to a choice of who I want to rob me.
This is my second time in my life sitting out. I don’t see the point anymore. Republicans have this obsession with attempting to restrict voting rights. Democrats have an obsession with restricting the right to bear arms. I am politically homeless.
They can both be shot into space in my opinion.
Populism wasn’t the problem, Trumpism (and generalized craziness) was the problem.
Vote Dem. Gun rights are secure for a generation
Does anyone have any demographics on how under 30s voted? I wonder if they were note galavanized because of the Sc decision earlier in the year.
That last clause is a problem for me.
People get cranky about things they believe in a lot. “Overthrowing the goobermint” would take a hell of a lot more than being allowed to (oh yes I think so), break in to the US Capitol Building and an unarmed woman killed for her enthusiasm. But I digress.

These people WERE armed and taken seriously. The dichotomy of reality is that the goobernor whose authoritarian policies that prompted this volatile situation GOT ■■■■■■■ RE-ELECTED??
Don’t believe the media, they’re poisoning intellect.

To me one of the biggest surprises was that there were none. It looks like all the people who were supposed to win did and that the polling was generally very accurate.
My biggest takeaway is that there doesn’t seem to be all that many swing voters out there for the taking.
Thoughts?

My surprise was that AMERICAN people of all are willing to cut down to 2 meals a day in order to keep Ds in power. I mean, that’s LOYALTY I didn’t forsee. or is it stupidity, maybe?
That decision and gasoline prices coming down from mid summer changed everything. But one can’t rely on the perfect storm.
Trump never tried to overthrow the government and there was no insurrection. An insurrection is when you send in the military to arrest congress and ignore the courts.
I would join you in wanting to support someone other than Trump for the Republican nominee, but that’s because I don’t think he would win or get the best nominees for congress.
I backed off the insurrection talk in an earlier post. I still do believe that Trump tried to overturn Biden’s win.
With Trump in the hunt for 2024 (I think he will announce this Tuesday), the GOP has no chance of winning - whether or not he gets the nomination. IMHO
I’ve stated numerous times that I wish there was a viable third party. The reality is that both sides could use a dose of humility.
