Those same crafts build the stuff in blue states as well as red.
And your denial is powerful emotion.
They don’t be produce as much economic value.
Really…now that’s funny.
They produce actual wealth when they build/create a product.
In the context of GDP, yes.
This comment appears to be entirely unrelated to the conversation we’re having.
What exactly am I “denying”?
You don’t believe services create wealth as well?
DOLOOP: conan:Personally…I’ll take wielder, carpenter, machinist, iron worker and labor or two over any lawyer…but that’s just me.
But top of food chain are doctors. We won’t get into where lawyers are at.
Take em.

It’s why blue states are persistently supporting red states with higher contribution to the fed and through higher state welfare to red states.
Expressed as dollars, red states aren’t worth very much.

Yes. Blue states augment those crafts with industries that produce more wealth per capita.

What do you think wealth is?
Lawyers doesn’t produce wealth…

I guess I’m never going to get how those jobs are producing. Not saying a lot of them are not necessary.
Of course they do.

What industries does NYC have?

If you have a point, please feel free to make it.
If I perform a service that is valuable, and someone pays me for it - how is that different from you building a device that has value, and someone paying you for it?
Does a house painter “produce” anything?
Based on feelings?
What do they make?
What do they produce?
They help create more laws so they can use those laws to steal wealth from others.
Only good lawyers in my opinion are criminal attorneys. Those I have respect for.
Based on feelings?
No, based on the basic fundamentals of economics.
What do they make?
What do they produce?
Services.

Why do you believe who you have respect for is relevant to this conversation?
Services…
Carpet cleaning is also a service. But it doesn’t add value to the carpet now does it?
Of course it does. Why else would anyone pay for it?

It’s not really I guess. Do I get a guaranteed return on financial services for example? Because if I buy a pair of boots from a boot maker and they aren’t right, guess what happens?
I don’t have a problem with somebody paying for a service they value. Maybe my problem is that the system in many cases has been set up to force them to be valuable.
Of course it does. Why else would anyone pay for it?
No it doesn’t. People pay for it so other people don’t think they are piggy.
