Well, there’s a ceasefire

Well it took a long time but it seems like Israel and Hamas have agreed to a ceasefire. We will see how long this lasts before someone (probably Hamas) ■■■■■ it all up.

I still want to know how israeli intelligence “missed it” and let it happen in the first place. Especially considering they had intelligence on a plan for over a year before it happened.

But for now, release the hostages.

Coincidence?

Doubtful.

Trump effect in action.

The details of this are kind of crazy. Hamas is releasing 33 hostages, all of whom Israel says are still alive, plus a few dozen dead bodies returned for burial. In exchange, Israel is releasing 330 something Palestinians they’re currently holding either in prison or in temporary prisoner of war camps.

It’s very one sided in my opinion. But that’s probably all the Arab mediators (seems like Egypt did most of the heavy lifting) could get Hamas to agree to.

I’d also like to know exactly how long israeli intelligence had hezbollah terrorists, walking around, boarding planes, traveling across borders with the explosives-laden pagers that may have eluded screenings and detection, and could have potentially gone off in unintended places and times.

Assuming some of them are dual citizens (Israeli and American citizenship) it probably played a role in Egypt’s pressure on Hamas to agree since the Trump administration will certainly be more unpredictable about these things than the Biden administration was.

Plus I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that the Trump transition team was saying some things to both Hamas and Israel to agree to something in time for the inauguration.

Mossad is pretty precise about things. It’s a lot different than how they were in the 70s. They probably had close eyes on them to make sure they went off in times and places that wouldn’t endanger any bystanders.

Did everyone forget what Trump said?

By inauguration day…

Like I said, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Trump team was pressuring Israel behind closed doors to agree to something less than total victory. They probably also sent some feelers out to Hamas telling them if they didn’t agree to something to not be surprised if a Delta unit was dropped on their heads one day randomly.

One big difference between Trump and Biden is that Trump has way less of an issue dropping a Delta team on someone’s heads if they don’t play ball. And no one wants a Delta team trying to kill them. Cause Delta is damn good at killing folks who need killing.

So Trump gets credit for pressuring Israel to come to terms? You realize if Biden does this he’s selling out Israel on this board right?

Thanks President Trump.

No way in Hell they came to a ceasefire because of Brandon!

Perhaps.

Personally, I think it is more of the same thing that went on with Reagan.

Inauguration day 1981 the Iranians released the Americans because Reagan scared them.

I think Trump scares Ham-Ass.

Always is. Israel always does the bigger man.

Unpredictable scares them all.

Biden certainly does not.

This is absolutely a myth. The Iranians were so scared of Reagan they killed and kidnapped Americans with impunity during his administration and let him sell them arms. The hostage release was completely handled by the Carter administration despite efforts by Reagan’s team to stop/delay it for political reasons. The Iranians waited until inauguration day because they hated Carter so much for the support we gave the Shah.

One big win for Biden on his way out.
