Correct. the candidate screwed up. “throwing a monkey wrench into the works” is what he meant to say aka :monkey this up: Poorly chosen words I am sure you will agree.
bad optics at best. He also said articulate in the same interview. It’s hard to have two dog whistles in the same statement and not draw quizzical looks, but yes I agree that in context, “monkey this up” could have just been a screw up.
Ok… enough with the ridicule of the disabled. “Twister” is ableism at its worst. To infer that the only people who can have fun are those who can twist is a despicable dog whistle for the abled.
I guess you think you can get away with your racist rhetoric just because you pretend to criticize white supremacists at the same time.
It is utterly disgusting.
A lot of people don’t seem to know the word has strong racial ties to it. “Shade” used to be a slang term for black people, with considerable usage in Chicago. “Shady” used to be a derogatory term used to describe black neighborhoods, the same way that “haunts” has a pejorative connotation to it compared to “hangouts.” You see it in newspapers from the turn of the 20th century all the time.
Libs are desperate politically and this fake accusation makes that perfectly clear. I agree that it was a poor choice of words but he wasn’t being racist. This November is going to be fun.
Can you acknowledge that Monkey has historically been used as a racist attack towards black people? It seems like you can do that considering you agree it was a poor choice of words. But some people here are seemingly oblivious to the history of racist terms.
It’s very funny (sad) to see all the right wingers running around shrieking “ITS NOT RACIST ITS NOT RACIST” when everyone else, including Fox News, was like “Yeah that was racist.”
I think it’s a trial run from when the N-Word tape drops. “Now he was just referring to the mans socialist policies as the N-Word!”
