"We Ain't Buying It"

Oh geez… Libs are up in arms against certain retailers and think they’re going to make a statement by boycotting various stores over the Black Friday stretch.

Good for them. It might mean 10 fewer people vying for some hot deal I’m looking to nab.

For the record, one of the major retailers is Target, for abandoning its DEI policies. (Check out the “Go Woke, Go Broke” thread. They were failing because they went too woke, and now customers have taken Target off their radar. The only customers left are TDS-ers, and most of them won’t be able to afford Black Friday shopping anyway. Go broke, indeed!)

Chances are, even libs are smart enough to buy good deals, even if they are at Home Depot or Target, and maybe (MAYBE) to virtue signal, they’ll buy those deals online from allegedly boycotted retailers so that they won’t be seen darkening the doors of those establishments.

Their sales do not bear this out.

This looks like stagnancy not any kind of massive loss

Also boycotts are dumb. The dumbest

Hint: I exaggerated.

But plenty of financial analysis and opinion pieces highlight the TGT woes. (And not just from conservative sites.)

so over a period where inflation shot up 20% their sales went down a tad… not a recipe for making a profit. Profits are down, not sales.

What an extremely emotion-filled post with zero data backing it up.

I see you’re trolling today. That’s wonderful.

What type of data would you expect to find? Over the same periods, Walmart showed a small but noticeable increase in sales. Target was subject to two popularly publicized calls for boycotts from the right over announced restroom policies and children’s trans displays. Then they faced calls for a boycott from the left over withdrawing some of the policies complained of by the right and their DEI stance.
Maybe in the future we can have left wing and right wing retailers.

Stagnant is as bad as loss in retail.

I think Target made the better choice moving forward.

They could dial back all that red in their stores too.

I don’t usually venture out on Black Friday but the libs wanting to boycott makes me want to go out and buy something.

During the spike in inflation their sales went up by 20 percent. From 2021 when there around 21 billion to 23 when they went over 25 billion. I am bad at math so i will change the numbers a bit

20 percent of 20 billion is 4 billion

That looks like a 20 percent rise in sales….
What’s not happening for target is growth. What is happening is stagnation.

Their online presence sucks.

Yes because during that period of time Walmart continued to expand its online retail. Partnering with shopif.

It has had a 25 percent increase in online retail this year

Target only at 4.3.

A lot of it has to do with how their online customer facing retail works
Walmart is mimicking Amazon

Target is mimicking gosh knows what

Retail boycotts do not work Bud light is the only example. Like ever

I don’t know what chart you’re looking at, but the one provided shows absolutely flat sales from Jan21 through this year

What is dumb about a boycott? If it doesn’t work, that doesn’t make it dumb. It just means not enough people that buy the product were affected or cared. But how do you know unless you try? Nothing dumb about it. A failed boycott hurts no one. But might inconvenience some of the people boycotting.

Me too. But I might go to Home depot and get some things just because of this. I’ve been in a Target maybe once or twice. Aren’t they redundant? Do we need Target?

Also, are these people retarded? How is Home depot and Target undermining our democracy by not protecting illegals and dropping DEI? Can someone explain that to me? That’s probably top 10 dumbest things I’ve ever seen written this century.

Nevermind. I started in mid 2020. Go me

Dumb because there has never been a popular successful one. Outside of bud light
