NATO leaders keep repeating the line “We will stand with Ukraine as long as it takes.”
As long as it takes for what?
The obvious answer is “For as long as it takes for Ukrainian army to collapse. Then we will cut our losses and leave like we did in Afghanistan and Vietnam.”
So the video is UGI?
Or the video is actually a video of Disney World?
Sure, it is inconvenient to you that the video was reposted at a pro- American pro-Ukrainian source and would never be posted at an anti-American or Pro-Russian site.
That does not mean it is false.
It means when you rely only on anti-American sources you are not getting the whole story.
The video is really a video. Likewise, the video of the Ghost of Kyiv was a real clip from a real video game, but the Ghost of Kyiv is a myth.
Whether the new video represents what Gerashchenko says it does is anyone’s guess. For example, it may be ten years old or come from some other location.
The arrangement looks like it was designed for manual operation. Here is a similar one from Michigan:
The Ukrainian video may simply show a Soviet-era manual ferry that has never been updated.
So the video of Russian commuters forced to hand ferry their cars across a river . . . is a tourist attraction in Russia? Gee they don’t look very happy.
More likely:
the Russian economy is crushed and the ferry in the video must be hand-pulled either because Russia is out of money or because they need a part from Germany.
Are the Russians in the video getting a great benefit form the war?
The resolution is too low to see facial expressions, but there is a woman’s voice laughing at the end of the video as the ferry lands. No one appears to be working very hard.
This looks like an old-fashioned manual ferry that has been there for many years. If you want to get your car across the river, you are expected to help to move the ferry.
These kinds of things used to be common in the US. Here is one from the Alabama in the 1930s.
You’ve brought up this same “Ghost of Kyiv” example dozens of times over the past year. Can’t you come up with any other examples? Maybe something more recent? If anything, you’re proving that Ukraine is pumping out propaganda at a much slower rate than Russia is.
Russia unilaterally invaded and tried to conquer Ukraine. Ukraine fought back hard, was aided by the West until Russia was forced to hold a line with only small gains in the South and East. Both Russia and Ukraine have lost an enormous amount of lives in the process.
The main propaganda from Russia is that they had a right to invade because…NATO expansionism man! Meanwhile Finland and Sweden have borders with Russia and will actually join NATO…unlike Ukraine which was not on track to join NATO.
Western media is little more than an informercial for war mongers, so the examples are so numerous it is hard to pick one.
Kim Iversen created a good list of propaganda from early in war.
US intel officials admitted back in April that they are reporting speculation and rumors as facts in order to support the war effort. They have certainly been following their stated path.
Now the White House is saying that the US will block any cease fire suggestions from China with no mention of what Ukraine wants.
National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said Monday morning that Ukraine should reject any ceasefire offer that comes out of Chinese President Xi’s trip to Russia this week.
Russia threatening ballistic mistakes over Biden statements now. Brilliant! Bidens stoking ww3 and doesn’t know it. Worst foreign policy president in my lifetime.
