If they are teaching it so well, why are only 13% of the kids in Philadelphia able to read to grade? and none able to pass math proficiency? Is it because math is racist?
You persist in pretending you don’t understand the difference between teaching CRT and teaching and implementing curriculum and policy that are the fruit of CRT taught to teachers. All of a sudden the left doesn’t understand nuance.
I don’t disagree as well. Question is what do we do to restore that faith?
Voter ID would work wonders but somehow it is called suppression. How does one live in our society without an ID? Yes there will be a small number who doesn’t have an ID but they are few and far. The cost argument is just a distraction, if the individual has enough money to buy smokes, alcohol, etc 5 or 10 bucks for a state issued ID is doable. I would be ok to expand the ID to allow say a school ID as long as it shows an address. Here in Ohio one can now apply for a new Driver’s License online, I am fortunate that I live in a small town so the BMV is never slammed, but when I lived in Columbus 20 years ago, unless you knew of one in a suburb, plan for several hours. That is unacceptable and has been addressed finally.
As far as absentee ballots, here in Ohio you have to request a ballot and click in a box as to why you want one. Out of town, working hours, etc. Basically why do you want one, has to be a valid reason. We also have early voting and me and my wife generally go that route because for example last year I was on campus from 10am-7pm so we simply voted at the courthouse. Easy peasy, in and out. I am also required to show ID to vote, I have 3 government forms of ID, DL, CCW, and my VA card so I am covered. I think either of those 3 should work for ID.
Those ballots should be required to be postmarked by election day, no excuses as to why they cannot be and NO ballots should be counted if they are not postmarked in time. I have no issue with ballot drop boxes as long as they are in a secure area, under 24/7 monitoring by video and/or in person who is not a part of any campaign. Ballots picked up on a regular schedule with the last pickup at the same time polls close.
Those ballots should be verified according to local election laws, counted, and secured in a secure facility for any challenges. Those numbers should be the first numbers reported after the polls close.
Yes there are details that would need worked out, but that would go a long way towards helping restore confidence in the process.
Maybe every other election there should be random auditing with a focus on looking for any trends that are outside of historical norms for that area that might indicate something is wrong.
Finally on voter registration, no more same day registration. That window closes 7 days prior to election day, and all registrations are verified.
Existing registration rolls need to be purged of any deaths, those that have moved out of the precinct and registration has been completed in their new one.
“What happened in Virginia is what happens when Democrats fail to take on the GOP’s divide-and-conquer racism and motivate people to turn out,” they continued. “The McAuliffe campaign had no comprehensive pro-worker economic message against a literal private equity magnate. It had no positive message on what the next four years would be like for Virginians. It had no rebuttal to Republican race-baiting bull----. Put simply: it was a campaign designed to fail.”
“Terry McAuliffe ran the milquetoast campaign he wanted to run — where every other word he uttered was ‘Donald Trump’ instead of focusing on the issues voters cared about the most,” the groups wrote.
He ran exact same campaign that Biden won with. And now the left is bitching?
