Yes, he reported to work … in the middle of a warrant execution on his place of work. Bad timing on his part does not excuse him from being detained along with everyone else at the business. Why is this so hard for you to understand?
And yet, in spite of his bad decision making, he was released with no charges filed. He could have saved himself a lot of grief if he had just cooperated with the Agents from the get-go.
Yes I do. Tell me something. If a person walks into your house with a wet umbrella, do you need to ask if it’s raining? This is as clear as that.
They smashed his window and pepper sprayed him even though he showed them he was a legal citizen. That’s not possible. You realize that, right? What happened was a result of him not complying. We see this all the time.
What I’m saying is, it is possible this is another example of LEO abusing someone’s rights.
You are taking the result - the pepper spraying and smashed window - as proof he did not comply, when it could also be proof of their abusing his rights.
Every instance is specific to the individual encounter. The notion that evidence of police abuse in one case (or 1,000 cases) means that abuse occurs in all cases is absurd.
Conjuring up “what if” scenarios does not amount to evidence of anything. What is going on here is that you are assuming the latter scenario because it fits your agenda.
No. Here is part of what you said in the OP. You may have got it from the article.
“despite him identifying himself as a U.S. citizen — broke his window, peppered sprayed him and dragged him out.”
How is he identifying himself as a US citizen with his windows rolled up and doors locked? We can come to a reasonable conclusion from that statement alone. He obviously had some time. Your guess is as good as mine as to what he was doing to identify himself while locked in the car. But the police were most likely asking him to open the door and he refused to do so.
That’s not going to work if the police are asking you to open the door or roll down your window. You don’t get to choose. You don’t get to dictate how this works.
