US citizen jailed at Canadian border

All this could have been avoided if the man didn’t ask the officer ‘WHY’.
You want to be a smart ass…then stuff happens.

If he said instead: ‘Yes Sir…Officer Sir, …right away…Sir…’ he’d be on his merry way sooner.

His momma sure didn’t teach him the first and the most important law in life
" Thou Shalt Not Be A Smart-ass".

You’re suggesting that his mother should have had “The Talk” with him?

Cop had not right to ask for your ID.

Why did he stop you?

Why did he stop you? Why did he ask for your ID?

I thin the minimum is 3 hours detention, or being handcuffs and tossed in a cell.

This story has both.

One side of the encounter is being presented. Without hearing both sides, how are we supposed to comment?

I had a similar experience years ago when crossing from Saulte Ste Marie, Ontario into Saulte Ste Marie, Michigan by US Customs. It was for about the same amount of time. If you do not have every necessary document in perfect order, it quickly goes south and is no fun. That’s sometimes the way it goes when entering the US. Customs agents do not have to abide by the same rules as local police officers.

Maybe we should have opened up a new thread every time Biden released an illegal into the country.

“Come on maaaaaaaaaan”…that’s different.

Should we

  • legalize assaulting students?
  • blame the president?

Or acknowledge the simple and obvious fact
with any law, every law, all laws, people will be charged and later found not guilty.

any law, every law, all laws

What makes him mouthy?

Why is his heritage relevant?

He’s a US citizen.

Here we are, first thing in the morning, watching senior-aged children stomp their feet on command. Again.

What law is this citizen accused of breaking? When was he charged?

Who suggested legalizing anything in response to this incident?

they really really really care about the rights of citizens. and non-citizens.

You have no right to question secondary screening when you present yourself to CBP, you just do it. Unless of course you are looking for a confrontation.

This is common knowledge when traveling internationally.

Bingo. Lets hear both sides.

Non-citizen, terrorists, and child predators, above all Americans, at any cost.

Nothing has changed for those losers.
