United States needs workers--increases work VISAs by 30K

The craziness of this era is fascinating. It shows us what average citizens are willing to do if a person arrives on the scene and promises them 1 or 2 things.

asylum seekers by definition are not illegal.

they are doing things legal like and you dont like it.

change the law. the asylum seekers are doing everything by the book.

Allan

They are illegals coached to game the system. They are crossing illegally.

The majority of asylum seekers cross at a point of entry.

Allan

Illegals. Gaming the system. There is no reason to grant asylum to anyone from any of those countries.

except that we do.

Allan

Should we?

Is Honduras a war zone?

Most do not fit the criteria for asylum, this is one of the many reasons for the outrage and unpopularity of sanctuary cities.

I don’t think you understand sanctuary cities.

No. Neither are any of the others.

Not the point Allan.

Unpopular where? In the sanctuary cities themselves?

Allan

That’s exactly the point, American law allows asylum seekers from near and far. And they are sometimes granted asylum based upon their circumstances. Some are granted and some are denied.
Exactly the way the was intended to work.

Allan

They are granted asylum on a quota

Everywhere except the liberal bubble

The poll shows that President Trump has broad public support in his effort to crack down on sanctuary cities.

A survey from Harvard-Harris Poll provided exclusively to The Hill found that 80 percent of voters say local authorities should have to comply with the law by reporting to federal agents the illegal immigrants they come into contact with.

As it stands, hundreds of cities across the nation - many with Democratic mayors or city councils - are refusing to do so.

Asylum assumes that the person requesting is being politically or socially oppressed or they are civilians caught in an active war zone.

None of these migrants really fit that criteria. Being in poverty isn’t grounds for asylum. If so there are some places in the United States that need the attention first.

Is asylum an individual or collective status?

Individual.

The individual needs to make the case for why they need asylum. Either they are being oppressed for the race, politics, or religion or they are caught in the crossfire between two warring factions.

If they show that to be the case, great. Let them in. If they are requesting asylum because of poverty, sorry that’s not a good enough reason for me. There are millions of Americans in poverty right now. They come first.

Is that what’s happening on their end?

and thats exactly how some are granted asylum.

They made their case.

pleading poverty aint getting it done, thats for sure,
