I just read that same story. Weird that Nunes would say just last week that the app was complete and now they are working with Google over moderation issues.
Truth Social shows just how difficult it is to launch a new platform especially one that was quite obviously rushed out.
Politics aside Twitter has everything i need regarding video games, movies, comics etc and Truth Social cannot come close to matching that.
In fact I rarely use social media to engage politically which I suspect is the same for most people in Twitter.
When even Android doesn’t carry your app… that means trouble.

You really don’t need the app. Just go to the site.
Truth needs more My Pillow ads.
They need the app. Users want to access it on their smartphone and they don’t want a second rate experience by trying to navigate the site on the go.
This is why Truth Social will address the moderation concerns. They need the Google store more than Google needs Truth Social.
Though I am sure the next call will be for Trump to build his own app store. And I say if he wants fo then go for it.
