Trumps administration pandemic response

So the rest of the countries at the UN can’t do their part? We should carry the load for all forever?

If they were protecting us we would have no one in the US with the disease.

You have no actual point. The same principles apply no matter where it is or how long it is. The purpose is to deter and delay and it’s already been proven to be very effective, the numbers simply do not lie.

The CDC is quite capable.

Good thing Trump cut their budget and keep proposing additional cuts, right?

Well maybe if we limited them to actually researching diseases, cures, and prevention of disease they wouldn’t miss it?

Oops @CanadianJudo you seem to have come very quickly to the crux of the issue.

No what he did was show that they haven’t done what he believes is their reason for existing.

They haven’t stopped viruses from coming to the US from abroad.

You are surely not suggesting that the WHO’s raison d’etre is to prevent “viruses from coming to the US from abroad”?

It wasn’t my claim. Try reading what has been written before commenting and perhaps you’ll have a clue.

I gave you more credit that you would provide a considered position rather than just just parrot another person’s talking point.

No, he is not. However,

Let me clarify.

the WHO exist to stop disease from spreading unchecked across borders, funding the WHO is a benefit to the united states because it help create international standard for disease control across the global which in turn help prevent uncheck diseases from flooding into the U.S.

Its why only 3% of cases are outside of China.

You’re just making things up again.

A nation doesn’t need the WHO to decide for itself when it’s in their best interests to cut off immigration, tourism, or imports of foods/dairy products from another nation.

They certainly haven’t done a good job of preventing the spread of viruses outside of the countries where they originate.

Kind of hard to criticize the response when the vast majority of US cases come from a single quarantined cruise ship.

A save percentage of 100 so far.

No cases diagnosed but…don’t let a good emergency go to…waste…the SF specialty.

It seems to be a very reasonable, sound and justified response.

Yeah…they’re so on top of things…amirite? :sunglasses:

Suddenly Libs are concerned about who comes into our country? They want extreme vetting and restrictions on travel from certain countries? Gosh, I hope it doesn’t occur to the Iranian government that all they have to do to hit America would be to get a few sick Iranians into Mexico and up to the southern border. Just make sure they pack a 16.00 dollar ladder or a 4.00 shovel. Or perhaps they might just cross over in a place where there is no wall yet.

But who would ever think of something so diabolical? We just need to keep our borders open and continue to hinder the Presidents authority and ability to make and execute quick decisions on national security issues. Because someone’s feelings might get hurt. And we don’t want to be racists, bigots or xenophobes.

Which countries and for what reason?

I believe you believe that. Everything is always someone else’s fault. It’s an unassailable theory.
