How so?
To my shame I was a gung ho supporter of the invasion of the invasion of Iraq but as no actual WMD were found I started to question everything.
At the time I was torn. I certainly respected Colin Powell and watched with interest when he addressed the UN on the issue. However my gut told me that Bush was being manipulated by Cheney who I felt thought that the last war there was unfinished business. But the thing that hurt me the most was when my business partner (a big Bush supporter) told me that by not supporting Bush’s decision to invade was UN-American. I basically read him the riot act saying that my protest was certainly as American as it gets.
We went “cold turkey” in Vietnam.
We said good bye and others said hello.
Then things were left to playout on its own inertia.
Now we have nail salons in every major city.
