These political indictments are the real threat to our democracy.
Smith was given 60 agents and other government workers to find anything to charge against Trump. Fearing a mixed jury in Florida would not find him guilty, he came up with this January 6 charge just to get a trial in DC. That will have a jury and judge that will be similar to the furthest left members of our forum. They will find him guilty of anything that is put before them.
True, the Supreme Court will toss out the conviction just like it did with his conviction of the governor of Virginia but that will be after the election. It will have served its purpose.
