Trump Right to Commute Blagojevich Sentence

Maybe not. But whatever price Clinton might have charged, you’d be freaking out about it and calling for a special council to investigate.

…and would be mocked while the Clinton’s enjoy their superpower against legal consequences.

We know how it all works.

What’s funny is that you seem to think this superpower is exclusive to the Clintons or Democrats.

I’m not sure you do know how it works.

Trump is getting “conservatives” to defend a corrupt democrat politician? Truly there is no Republican party anymore, just Trump…

Interesting…

There is no “Republican Party” in America. You have anti-American Trumpists, concerned patriots and those that are just taking cover. Hopefully the elections this fall turn the tide and begin the restoration of American values.

Yeah, the law requires scienter. And no, a handful of emails containing classified material out of tens of thousands of emails (which may or may not have even originate from Clinton - she may have just been on the email chain), does not show scienter at all. Go over every congressman’s email in that fine-toothed comb manner and I guarantee you’ll find others with the same level of mishandling.

Why didn’t you bother to look up when Stewart was indicted and charged before you typed this stupid post?

It’s just a glorious, endless range of stupid hills to die on.

Obama’s power must have been extraordinary, because she went to jail in 2004 and was released in 2005.

OoopS…

:+1:

Trump is normalizing pay to play as a message to Cohen, who is neck deep in pay to play.

The most messed up part of this is not the pardon, it is the reaction from his supporters. We know what the reaction would have been had a President Hillary Clinton done this. Even a President Rubio or Cruz would have faced stiff headwinds from their own.

Trump has shown he is able to make his followers believe almost anything. This is a new bar. And it is at such a level that it makes one legitimately where his supporters’ willingness to follow him stops. Think how many other 180 degree turns he can get out of his supporters.

The stopping point is well past dangerous to the Republic and he is free to take them there.

Yeah, I know counterfactuals are silly, but you’re correct: imagine the reaction from the right had Hillary Clinton or Obama seriously floated this idea–especially as when Blagojevich was going on trial, the right and the GOP were convinced that Obama was up to his neck in this scandal. (Narrator voice: He was not.)

I feel like I’m living in a parallel universe or something. Liberals want Blago in jail, when five years ago they we’re screaming his innocence and bloody murder. And now some republicans want him out? Keep him the ■■■■ in there.

Why are you lying?

About what?

Great question.

What liberals were “screaming his innocence and bloody murder”? If that was true, Obama could have pardoned him or at least commuted his sentence.

I so wish we had the threads from back then.
