As a political ideology, there is only one definition of “nationalism”.
Patriotism and Nationalism are not synonyms.
You been living in one all your life if you were born here.
We share some similarities with the old Austria-Hungarian Empire.
The advantage we have over the old Austrians is a common language and a constitution that is valued by most of the populace. It has what allowed us to be the most successful multicultural nation state in history.

But we in the USA have been patriots and nationalists for centuries, and yet we have no Hitlers, Mussolinis, Stalins, Pol Pots, Maos, etc…
You people always go to the worst possible interpretation for the meanings and context of whatever Trump says.
Not every definition of nationalism results in a fascistic Mussolini or a Hitler or Stalin.

Trump embracing the term does not retroactively apply that to America in its history, despite your firm belief that Trump can rewrite facts to suit his will.
So when we read the word “socialist” in National Socialist German Workers’ Party and the word “socialist” in Bernie Sanders’ and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’ bio, we should equate those words and the meaning behind them?
I can just imagine the despicable joy that went through all those Unite the Right types when they heard it.
As I said nationalism takes on many different forms. To openly say nationalism is bad tell me you’re either uneducated or pron to indoctrination.
Same thing with left/right spectrum.
to equate left/right spectrum to Europe being the same as American left/right political spectrum is just as naive and uninformed.
European political spectrum isn’t American…we are unique. Which “some” people find that offensive and others find that make America exceptional.
You don’t know what a constitutional republic is let alone claim to “prefer” it!! Because if you’re living in the USA you’re living in one and you don’t have a clue!

As I said most people aren’t informed of many shades of nationalism…precisely because of propaganda/indoctrination associated with nationalism.
Obviously those same people equating all nationalism to Nazis, will associate all socialism with Mao’s Communist China, and they will condemn Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, etc…

Nothing wrong here. I personally want our country to be supreme! So I guess that makes me a supremacist. Also I’m white. Is there a problem?

That more of Oligarchy then authoritative, Since it is corporation that is benefiting from that policy, and can Thank dam conservatives for that crap since it was the plan from a GOP think-tank that Obama used because he went all right wing on us after the election.
