He knows how to win.
Amazing
Musk landed a rocket back into its rack.
From what I understand it’s a bit underused these days because many ship classes have outgrown it. Modern supertankers and transport ships in that size class are too big to use the locks. Going the long way around is actually cheaper because those ships can carry so many goods at one time.
Ah yeah. Where the Rio Grande heads north just start the canal there and keep heading west. And then widen and dredge the Rio Grande all the way to the Gulf exit.
No, it’s not.
“We” didn’t build it.
Yep. And it’s been that way for decades.
And how do you propose the US does that,
True it could certainly be done.
Question is would this country actually be capable of spending the money and negotiating a fair deal for Mexico and including them in it? Since it would serve as our new mutual border ya gotta include them in the project.
I bet Harris knew…she knows everything. Smartest woman I’ve ever seen/heard.
No.
…
Certainly Brandon knew everything.
Only thing it could really be useful for is transporting Atlantic Naval Assets to the Pacific in times of war. But most of our more important Naval warships have outgrown it too. No way you’re getting a Nimitz class carrier through the Panama Canal.
It’s a shame too. Because a project like that would probably greatly strengthen US Mexico relations at the same time.
Funny enough the Suez Canal has many of the same issues as the Panama Canal these days and is being bypassed for the same reasons.
Got to remember these transport Canals were built a century ago, a time when even the largest ships in the world were maybe 20% of the size of our modern ships. They’ve seen some expansions since then, but to make them truly competitive and useful you would need to completely rebuild them from scratch.
I don’t know about that.
The PC locks were widened in 2016.
I would hope it would if the deal was fair for both sides and created a ton of joint American and Mexican labor.
True but it’s still not enough for the Super Tankers.
Our boats now are just too big.
I would hope it would if the deal was fair for both sides and created a ton of joint American and Mexican labor.
Was it “fair” in Panama?
We don’t need another dependent.
