Trump ends medical deferred action program

Yes. I don’t see anything in the Bible that would exclude Christians working through external groups to provide relief.

Then you do it. Use your own money.

It’s not “working through external groups”. There is no choice involved. It’s a taking.

Spoken like a true authoritarian.

Funny, in the one Government set up BY GOD directly IN THE BIBLE, crop growers were ordered to set aside the fringes of their land so the poor, the widows, the orphans and the foreigners could come by and have something to eat. Further, outstanding debts were COMPLETELY FORGIVEN every seven years, Further, Israelites were commanded to give freely to the poor whatever they needed. Check Deuteronomy 15.

But wait Mr Reverend of Pizza, you say, that was all old testament stuff! What about the new?!

Well, we don’t have a Christian run government in the NT, but we have two blatantly obvious illustrations. The first one I’m talking about is in Acts:

And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. (Acts 2:44-45)

Now the full number of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one said that any of the things that belonged to him was his own, but they had everything in common. . . . There was not a needy person among them, for as many as were owners of lands or houses sold them and brought the proceeds of what was sold and laid it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to each as any had need. (Acts 4:32, 34-35

Sounds like Socialism.

But minister of pizzas, you protest, this is not a form of government, it’s just people sharing amongst themselves! Well, yes. It’s also portrayed ideal. But ok, fine. You want to hear from Jesus himself?

And Jesus said to them, “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” And they were amazed at Him. (Mark 12:17

In other words, quit yo whining and pay your taxes. Peace. Out.

Why should I let these peasants glean from
my fields! (Leviticus 23:22)

I’m not sure why a family with a sick child who came to the US from Mexico illegally would have greater access to our medical system than a family with a sick child in Mexico who was seeking legally to come to the US so that the child could have treatment.

We’re holding a mirror up. We can support these programs without using religious text. You guys are the ones who previously based your policy stances on the Bible and then your anti-christ got power and that went out the window.

We’re not a Christian nation. The liberals have stated that repeatedly and loudly.

It is an embarrassment that a country of the economic size of the USA that one’s health care outcome is dependent on your socio-economic circumstance.

Possibly on the side of U.S. Law. Or racist. (D)epends on who you ask.

I’ve been told repeatedly on these very forums that were not a Christian nation. Now we are? What is it?

Yes - we elect people for the people to do the people’s will. Through the representative govt. outlined in our beloved constitution, the will of the people is expressed.

We have chosen the govt. we have, the taxing, the spending, the everything.

The government is us and we are the government.

Are we a Christian nation or not?

You don’t have to be a christian to know that sending sick kids home is wrong.

His logic doesn’t say that.

You made that up.

Are you truly ready for us to be a Christian nation?

if you want to argue that we are, then be ready to embrace ALL of Christianity.

Charity was not Ceasar’s.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness… but you better not raise my taxes one penny to give to those parasites!

Not government fields.
