. Oh man, even for him this is a classic.
May is at a very vulnerable moment atm, with Boris having just left the cabinet in protest over the Brexit deal that the Govt has come up with. There’s a strong possibility he will mount a leadership challenge, and Trump namedropping him certainly won’t go unnoticed.
Letting Trump visit was a huge mistake. He was only ever going to take a giant ■■■■ on May and her Brexit plans, and react badly to any protests to boot.

The Sun interview in question:
You honestly think Trump know how the British government work enough to tell the Prime Minster how to handle Brexit?
OMG YES I can’t want for the cringe.

I mean he didn’t know anything about how the US Govt worked, and it didn’t stop him from running (and winning) .

That was one hell of an interview…
From the Article, the takeaways-
"His comments, damaging to the Prime Minster, come as he delivers his most brutally honest verdict yet on Britain in which he also:
Accused EU leaders of destroying its culture and identity by allowing in millions of migrants
Tore into London Mayor Sadiq Khan for not standing up to terrorists
Blamed Khan for spiralling crime in the capital
Insisted former Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson would make “a great Prime Minister”
Denied once branding Theresa May a “bossy schoolteacher”
Maintained he would keep ties with Russian tyrant Vladimir Putin despite the Salisbury Novichok poisonings
Demanded Britain and other Nato countries spend more on defence
Spoke of his sadness at feeling unwelcome in the capital by anti-Trump protesters
Claimed millions of Brits backed his policies
Told of his pride at taking wife Melania to meet the Queen"

Yeah I don’t imagine any of this has been an easy process.
Her team has been prepping for like a month and Trump just blew it all up right at beginning anyway.
As an american I sincerely apologize for that bumbling orange moron.
That article was painful to read.
I would normally agree with you, but May knew exactly what could and likely would happen through this invite. It’s not like she just learned of who Trump is last week or something.
Yeah this was basically the equivalent of bringing a bull into a china store and branding it. A lot of ■■■■ was going to get broken.

Absolutely. And the timing was obviously very poor for May as well. But by the time her power waned, the invite was already in place.
@MoleUK Do you think Johnson’s decision to step down coincided with this visit by Trump? I mean, who couldn’t predict Trump was going to come in and make a fool of May?

Nah I don’t think so, but it really wouldn’t surprise me if Farage et al tried manipulating Trump into going after her. Or Murdoch for that matter.
It could of course backfire, either by elevating May in sympathy, or elevating Corbyn when he’s already a few points ahead.
