Where’d your 100% increase in wages come from? And then there’s the small matter of inflation due to tariffs… and maybe fuel price increases if Iran and Israel don’t calm down.
The hypothetical 100% appears squarely in the postchain.
Use the up arrow if necessary. (I sincerely cannot explain it any more clearly than that.)
.
.
.
In case you’d like less-than hypothetical nunbers I can probably provide those too.
If you doubled the wages of maids… the price of hotel rooms would go up far more than 5%. But they wouldn’t necessarily make the hotel rooms $400 a night.
Meatpacking plants. I knew a person familiar with the meat packing plants in Minnesota. He claimed that those were once good paying jobs until American workers were replaced by aliens.
Yeah. I’m suspicious of the way this is going. Still, as the option was Kamala….
Similarly if the wages of store clerks doubled (just a round number we have picked for convenince purpose), the cost of a 1oz bag of chips at a gas stations (currently about $1.95) would go up, but it certainly would NOT double becasue wages are only a tiny part of the overall cost structure…
Low-end wages would rise far faster than prices. The workers would win.
I for one am perfectly willing to discuss possible exceptions
but after,
only after and not before
serious progress is made.
After, not before.
How many times can we get fooled the same way?
How many times must we see the same broken promises?
What is the definition of insanity?
Step 2):
Then and only then can selected exceptions be discussed.
Discussion begin with
Criminal employers plead gulty in a court of law publicly admit their crimes (on televison etc.) and pay a stiff fine plus restitution to the under-employed in the community where they commited their crimes.
Criminal employees plead cuilty in a court of law and pay a stiff fine plus restitution to the under-employed in the community where they commited their crimes.
You completely misundertand cause and effect here.
I am not advocating new laws
to find new ways to command and control the economy.
I am saying that criminals who violate the law for financial gain should be prosecuted. I am merely pointing out that stealing jobs and wages from low income American families is not a victimless crime.
What has changed over the years is not my views
it is that for decades, (Jimmy Carter, Walter Mondale, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama etc.) were all on the same page.
Now, the new dems have suddenly decided “Well, if it means we can poke Trump in the eye, we no longer care about working American and their wages.”
@Supreme_War_Pig is saying for all you MAGAs to not worry because even though Trump is protecting illegal immigrant in farming and hospitality industries… there are still plenty of places to round them up.
Trump is selecting certain industries where it’s ok to be illegal and others where it’s not.
You are insinuating that if the illegal wasn’t there… that an American would take that job and (hypothetically) make double.
You are making a lot of unfounded assumptions… for example…
You assume those workers are making less than minimum wage or less than what a citizen would demand.
You assume that if an illegal wasn’t there… a citizen would be waiting in the wings to do the job. We have record low unemployment right now… don’t know if that’s a safe assumption.
And while doing that… you are using the argument that paying more for labor (double) doesn’t raise prices all that much because labor is not more than 50% of the cost to produce radishes. This is an argument Dems make for raising minimum wage or an establishing a Union.
Really no spin needed. Trump, like he is wont to do, created a standard then 180ed. The bad result for MAGA, as it always is, is that they have to defend two polar opposite positions. That’s not positive. Most people like to have one position, point at it, and defend it. MAGA can’t do that because Trump injects too much chaos and uncertainty into basically every decision he makes.
incorrect. the direction is to continue actively pursuing criminal aliens in these industries
“We will follow the president’s direction and continue to work to get the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens off of America’s streets,”
rather than the merely “undocumented” ones
“…agents were not to make arrests of “noncriminal collaterals,” a reference to people who are undocumented but who are not known to have committed any crime.”
and. as you know, “undocumented” aliens…
now that you know the whole picture, you dont need to keep pushing media and lefty narratives in efforts to what you think is “exposing” MAGA
